Re: French Open Round 2: Federer just about beats Devvarman 6-2 6-1 6-1

Federer's laughing with this draw, he'll have a decent shot at winning the whole thing if Djokovic beats Rafa in an epic semi...

Re: Peak Murray

One that has always stuck in my mind was his match vs Jose Acasuso at the 2008 French Open. It was played on one of the back courts but I think it was Eurosport that covered it - an absolute magical...

Re: Wimbledon SF WWW: Andy Murray vs Jo Wilfried Tsonga

Murray will edge this in 4 tight sets. Tsonga is a good match up for him and seeing as the roof will most likely be closed the even slower conditions will favour Murray even more.

Re: Roland Garros R3: Andy Murray (3) vs. Santiago Giraldo: WWW?

Giraldo won't have the mental strength to beat Murray, just like Nieminen didn't.

Re: AO R3: Hewitt def. Raonic (23), 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-3.

Hewitt proving that when he's fit he's still nailed on to reach the 2nd week of all 4 slams imo. Just too much big match experience for these supposed up-and-coming bright stars.

Re: USO SF: Nadal(2) def Murray(4) 6-4 6-2 3-6 6-2

Murray's game has stagnated in the past year or two, where as the other top guys are always looking to evolve. He hasn't improved the forehand, the 1st serve is too flat and the 2nd serve is slow and...

Re: Everyone from Big 4 reached in 1 season all slam SF´s - what is the reason?

There is a big gap that exists and for me the only guy that can step up and challenge consistently in the slams is Del Potro, it's just been a big shame for tennis that since winning the US Open a...

Re: Murray d. Haase - 6-7(5), 2-6, 6-2, 6-0, 6-4

Absolutely typical from Murray.

He should count himself extremely lucky that he's got another soft draw through to the semi's which will give him time to get his game together.

Re: U.S Open 2011 Discussion. WWW??

It's hard to pick someone to win the Open at the moment, it's been a pretty average hard court season at best, no one's playing that well and there are a lot of players carrying injuries.

It's funny...

Re: Wimbledon SF: Nadal def. Murray 5-7 6-2 6-2 6-4

Re Murray, there are two things for me that he needs to improve and i've been saying it for years.

1. At the highest level, his forehand is simply not good enough and is a liability against the top...

Re: 2011 Wimbledon Draw - Discuss (Main Draw is in OP)

Considering the lack of depth on grass, Murray couldn't have got a tougher draw. Rd3 onwards Murray will face players who he's struggled with in the past and who are useful on grass - Cilic,...

Re: who's better on clay? Murray or Del Potro?

If he's 100% fit - Del Potro.

People are obviously reading too much into Murray's clay court season. He benefitted a great deal from very kind draws at all but one of the clay tournies he entered,...

Re: IW R1 Lu def Hewitt 6-2 6-3

After results like this it's difficult to see Hewitt playing on much longer. We know he loves the game and loves competing, but one week he's scraping past journeyman Brian Dabul and the next he's...

Re: Who Has The Better Forehand? Murray or Djokovic?

Murray's forehand is on a par with Gasquet's as to how ineffective that particular shot is. Novak's forehand is on a different planet overall compared to Murray and when it's on it's one of the best...

Re: Can Federer pull it off once again?

Doesn't matter how badly Federer plays at this years RG; you just know (like last year's RG) that someone will bottle it when in a winning position against him early on in the tournament and as a...

Re: Nadal: out for a month... at least

Nadal's sole focus this year should be to win the French. That's his bread & butter, get that under your belt and anything else this year is a bonus.

Re: Will Federer win the CYGS in 2010?

It's a possibility and I wouldn't be surprised if he does it.

Federer will reach the final of every slam like he did last year for a start. If Rafa isn't 100% for the French (which is likely as...

Re: Where Murray takes it from here

Murray is progessing nicely but unfortunately he's playing in the era of the best player ever who is an absolute slam monster. Ultimatley though it's his lack of punch on the forehand side that lets...

Re: Does British tennis continually lack champions because of continual rain?!

Nope, it's because the majority of people over here don't give a monkeys about tennis...it only exists 2 weeks of the year when Wimbledon is on you know. For the people who do want to play tennis,...

Re: The Australian Open (2010) : Lets Fire Up The Discussions

Really looking forward to this one, any number of players can go all the way.

I have a funny feeling about Murray this time. Minus the French, last year he was joint favourite with Federer to win...

Re: 2009 Most Overrated Player and why?

Fair enough. For me the only difference with Verdasco now compared to two years ago is he's mentally stronger.
He's beating the Melzer's and Troicki's of the world comfortably which he should have...

Re: 2009 Most Overrated Player and why?

Hewitt - Apart from reaching the quarters of Wimbledon (which wasn't a surprise) his only other decent result was beating Soderling in Cincinnati and even then Soderling choked the match to Hewitt....

Re: The Australian Open (2010) : Lets Fire Up The Discussions

I agree with the earlier post about it probably being the most open slam in years. Pretty much anyone in the top 6 has a realistic shot of winning the AO. Del Potro and Federer are the joint...

Re: So........ in hindsight, how did Andy Murray handle the pressure this year?

Murray's had a predictably good year outside the slams but when you're ranked no.2 and you're as good as he is it's not about winning the 500's, it's about winning slams and to be honest never at 1...
