Re: IW QF: Federer def. Berdych 6-4 6-0

These bits of self-mockery are actually quite charming. Nothing to do with a lack of intelligence whatsoever - on the contrary.

Re: Marcelo Rios to contest Australian Open 1998 final outcome?

Can't see why Korda should be stripped off his Australian Open title. There's not a single proof that he used steroids back then. The guy was extremely talented, a wonderful shotmaker and a joy to...

Re: The gay male player speculatron

I don't think it would be an issue as homosexuality in the Arab world is understood as an act of behaviour, not as an innate identity. As long as a player doesn't display any homosexual behaviour, he...

Re: WWW? Basel F: [1] Roger Federer vs [7] David Goffin

Dream final for me. Federer is obviously the favourite. I hope Goffin can make it competitive though. Federer wins 6-3,6-3.

Re: Basel QF: Goffin def. Raonic 6-7 (3) 6-3 6-4

Amazing win. Goffin is nearly unbeatable at the moment. :worship:

Re: Goffin will break the top 5 next year

Actually, he played 8 challengers this year. Basel is his 24th tournament.

But I agree with you on the top 10. I like his game, but if he ends somewhere between 15th and 20th after Wimbledon, that...

Re: Basel [R1] Goffin [7] def. Thiem 7-6(4) 6-3

What was so long about it? Thiem played about 60 matches this year. Goffin about 80.

Re: WWW R32 Basel (7)Goffin vs Thiem

Goffin is way too consistent for Thiem. As the match progresses, David will take the upperhand: 5-7,6-4,6-1

Re: David Goffin: Genius or Vulture?

Goffin could easily have played challengers in the first half of the year, but he chose instead to play qualifications in Memphis, Acapulco, Indian Wells, Miami, Casablanca and Monte Carlo (and...

Re: CH Mons Final: Goffin (1) d. Darcis (PR) 6-3 6-3

Actually, he should've taken some rest. He's been on a roll for three months now, playing 8 tournaments, winning six of them plus two matches in the Davis Cup. He looks dead tired.

Re: Week 40: Mons, Belgium [Entry List]

What has Rochus done to deserve a wildcard? If they want him to play some kind of farewell match, let him play an exhibition match against whoever bothers to show up.

Metz R2: Goffin defeats Kamke 6-1,6-3

Easy victory for Goffin. Always in control of the match. Tsonga next.

Re: Metz [R1] [8] Goffin def. [Q] Serra 6-2 6-2

Not the worst of draws - first match on this level for Serra in more than a year, last win on this level dates back to 2012 against Brian Baker - but at least he gets the job done these days without...

Re: Rank the greatest Open Era players of your country

5 to 8 the same? Dewulf won two ATP finals and was a semi and quarter finalist at Roland Garros. Vliegen won no titles and never got past the 3rd round of a grand slam.

Re: US Open 14 SF: (10) Nishikori def. (1) Djokovic 6-4 1-6 7-6(4) 6-3

Best result of the tournament so far. Nishikori deserves a final against Federer. There's more honour in losing to Federer than winning from Cilic.

Re: Worst US Open ever?

First US Open in 9 years and second grand slam this year without a Spanish quarter finalist. Can't be wrong. If Djokovic and Cilic bow out in the next round this could be the best US Open since...

Re: USO R1 Goffin Def Desein 6-1 6-3 6-3

Desein thinks that in the long run he can make it into the top 100. It must have felt so close tonight. :)

Re: US Open, QR3: Niels Desein def. Oscar Hernandez 7:6(4), 6:3

Only second ATP main draw appearance for Desein (first time was last year in Oeiras, where he lost to Lorenzi). This comes as a surprise to me. He wasn't doing well at all this year (Race ranking...

Re: Winston-Salem [R1]: Goffin def. Melzer 6-3 6-4

He should have received a wildcard, as he reached the main draw playing qualifying 7 times out of 8 this year (only lost to Kamke in Eastbourne in the final round). Anyway, great result once more....
