Re: When do u think Federer's game will "click" again (if ever) ?

I disagree. He started his "downfall" when people already officially wrote him in the books as the GOAT and he started doing exhibitions with Sampras, Borg, et al. It's like he already inducted...

Re: A different perspective on Federer's problems

Fed hasn't gotten better and Rafa and Andy Murray have. Plain and simple. The area Fed needs to improve the most is his net game and get back to his level of consistency. Bottom line: he needs to...

Re: Federer had mononucleosis

Good God, what is wrong with some of you people. Karma is a bitch and some of you haters have a sh*tload coming at you soon.

The doctor and agent confirmed he had mono. Why would anyone question...

Re: Federer's Loss to Sampras Likely Due to Slow Surface...

Money. How else are they going to secure future exhibitions between these two if Fed swept all 3 matches? Who's going to be interested in seeing that again?

Plus, it's only an exhibition. Fed...

Re: How many of todays players would be legends if it weren't for Federer?

So many if's and but's exist in this scenario, it's really hard to say. For example, you just can't limit Roddick possible Grand Slam victories to the finals he's gotten to in the past. You've got...

Re: Pictures of Novak!

I used to see them at Holabird's Sports (which is the warehouse advertised at the back of Tennis Magazine (at least in the USA).

Re: Pictures of Novak!

I love the smiley face vibration damper he uses on his racquet. Says everything about who Novack is!

Re: Borg: "Rafael Nadal will win Wimbledon in 2008."

How many predicted Nadal would win Wimbledon in 2006? and 2007?

How many predicted Fed would win FO 2006? and 2007?

How many have been right?

Reality = predictions are only that.

Re: Field catching up with Fed.. or?

The field isn't really catching up. They're just going into matches with him more determined. But look at Novack. He pulls off an amazing win, but it completely spent from the effort and loses...

Re: Roger's post match interview: hilarious!

I think the interview was plenty gracious. Novak didn't do too much special. Roger made some ridiculous errors, especially in the tiebreaks. He wasn't moving his feet as normal. I noticed that in...

Re: Rafa > Federer

You can't compare accomplishments by age. Everyone matures physically and mentally at different rates, and their performances peak at different times.

Plus, a game like Federer's takes more time...

Re: Andreev takes out Roddick 3-6 6-4 6-3 6-4

Not a surprise at all. Roddick is trying to dictate play from 10 feet behind the baseline on a clay court. Just not the right recipe for a win.

Re: roger/rafa - graf/seles comparison

One, big, HUGE, ommission: Graf had the most ineffective topspin/drive backhand of all time. Imagine if she did have a topspin/drive backhand the likes of Roger Federer. There would have been no...

You're comparing practice sessions with match play?

Re: Mcenroe and Sampras comments after their match last night!

Of course Pete is feeling like he's hitting the ball better today than in his prime. He's playing against guys that are far from their prime and who aren't hitting the balls like the rest of the ATP...

Re: Federer - Thread

Federer lacks heart? I can't believe what his results would be the last 3 or 4 years if he played with heart.

I wish everyone wouldnt' expect Federer to be invincible every single day...

Re: Hewitt = The most consistant successful player of the last decade.

It's great that Hewitt accomplished what he did, but to try to compare his accomplishments to Roger's, and make it sound like Hewitt is the better is ludicrous. If Lleyton read this, I think even he...

Re: Cañas def. Federer 7-6(2) 2-6 7-6(5)

Federer is human. When's the last time that someone has had the same results in a 3 or 4 year span that Federer has had? He's allowed a little bit of a letdown from the lofty peaks he established...

Re: Difference between Pete and Roger

Well, yay! Pete won 1 claycourt title in 15 or so years on the tour. And I see you're citing the same excuse Pete cites when he says that "Roger grew up on clay". Well, considering Roger's so...

Re: Difference between Pete and Roger

The media is the one that branded Roger the greatest first. And it comes up in almost every interview and every conversation with past champions...even current champions. So, Roger is almost forced...

Re: Federer's hitting partner in IW: Pete Sampras

I don't think that's true at all. Beckham is known by knowledgeable sports fans as a soccer/football player. If anything, Posh is known as Mrs. Beckham or the wife of Beckham, and not the other way...
