Re: Federer and Nadal could finish the year tied in the rankings

That's like letting 4chan decide who should be President. Oh wait, that already happened.

Re: Dutra Silva is out of control

Hindrance covers this already. Umps should be enforcing it in cases like this, or any where players shriek for a full second after hitting the ball.

Re: ATP Moscow R1 (Q)Basic d Kavcic 3/6 6/3 5*/1 ret.

They'll be as they are for a reason, presumably it's optimal for their customer base.

Anyway, yeah, Kavcic vs Basic, in Moscow ..... not too surprising when you get scorelines like this.

Re: ITF Santa Margherita Di Pula

Yeah, there's an event there almost constantly :-) I've bet on literally hundreds of matches my models kick up, only watched 2 or 3.

Apparently the facilities are pretty ...... basic.

Re: Federer: "I might skip Basel and Paris. WTF is the priority, not YE #1"

Seems likely. Stockholm has also been speeded up a crapton this year to match them, and these things seem co-ordinated now.

Almost all the end season Asian and indoor events look quickish now -...

Re: Should I worry about Gasquet to defeat Federer? [€1400 at stake!]

Indeed, if you were just picking at random, you would lose money more slowly over time picking heavy favourites. It's because books put most of the juice (their profit margin) on the underdog.

Re: Should I worry about Gasquet to defeat Federer? [€1400 at stake!]

Always worth flipping it on its head: if that route was profitable, why would the bookies offer such "sure things"? Why isn't it 1.01 today? The answer, of course, is that the odds roughly reflect...

Re: All in favor of Fed,I think the umpire is very unfair to Diego

They even changed the surface here specifically to help him :-) Tournament director was open about it, was desperate for him to play.

But yes, the star names will get a lot of decisions, as will...

Re: Shanghai play conditions: fast court but slow balls?

Shangahi has done the fast+slow for a few years now. Tokyo even longer.

The players moaning about the ball change from Beijing ..... play Tokyo. Oh, half the money? :-)

Re: Shenzhen Final: Goffin def Dolgopolov 6-4 6-7(5-7) 6-3

Sure - he's 10th in the race if you exclude Wawrinka/Djoko/Murray. 50 points behind Kandy, 150 behind Querrey, 310 behind PCB.

Re: Will Murray return to his championship form?

He's not having surgery, last I heard. That means it's not a big deal.

He made the mistake of playing Queens with an injury, made it worse, and then basically the same thing at Wimbledon - hard...

Re: Tournaments: Which are Exhibitions; Which are Not?

Was an easier answer when DC/Olympics gave points, but they stopped doing that last year (or year before?).

Hopman is clearly an exho, even though it's an ITF event.

Meanwhile, the...

Re: Laver Cup D1: Cilic def. Tiafoe 7-6 7-6 Europe leads 1-0

Wrong forum I think.

Exhibition events - MensTennisForums.com (http://www.menstennisforums.com/90-exhibition-events/)

Edit: hehe, was at least half-trolling. *hug* mods.

Re: US Open court reportedly slow and high-bouncing

Imagine a piece of sandpaper, rubbed on a plank - over time it'll lose some friction as it smooths. It's the same principle, just the feet of tennis players doing the work.

The more use the court...

Re: Dolgopolov hits back at match fixing accusations

I'd forgotten about this, but of course, back in 2010 when Savic (later lifebanned) was trying to arrange fixes, Dolgopolov was the player involved.

Basically: Savic approached Baghdatis twice to...

Re: US Open court reportedly slow and high-bouncing

Makes sense. Freshly resurfaced courts are a lot slower.

For example, the supposedly fast AO this year was simply because Laver was done earlier than normal.

Re: Difference in court reactions US Open V AUS Open

With the speedup last year, Bercy was actually a bit quicker than it was in 2008/2009. The conditions in 2010 were a one-off.

Re: US Open court reportedly slow and high-bouncing

Yeah, that happens with every hard court. Happens more at a slam because the courts get more play time, especially the outside courts that have had qualis and weeks of practice on them.

Re: Dolgopolov hits back at match fixing accusations

They probably did, but in the greater scale of things it'll be no big deal to them. Losing money on a big odds move will also not be anything new, that's happened many times before and they've not...

Re: Dolgopolov hits back at match fixing accusations

Pinnacle voided all bets on this, which they only do when they have clear proof of the money coming from fixers.

Re: Market movement in Quito CH. Lindell vs. Hamou

Brave soul to be betting this event. ATP Quito was one of the dirtiest main tour events in years, and at challenger level it's only going to get worse.

Re: Rafa at Cincinnati: I don't like the balls here

All the US masters have used Penn XD for about 15 years.

Nadal's problem isn't so much the Penn ball, it's the Penn ball+ hot/humid climates. In IW he has no problem, won the title three times...
