Re: Rafael Nadal, the 15th male Yokozuna of open era tennis

By that criteria you're right..well I guess I can only counter by saying Kisenosato has quite an impressive number of victories over Hakuho and Asashoryu over the last two years.;)

Anyway I agree...

Re: Rafael Nadal, the 15th male Yokozuna of open era tennis

Djokovic can't be Kotooshu cause Kotooshu until May this year was pretty much an underachiever while Djokovic exploited his talent and got appropriate results.;)

Djokovic = Kisenosato (the next big...

Re: Gulbis, Lapentti, Bolelli, Llodra - one of them in RG QF

Bolelli wouldn't be unexpected to me.
I hope Bolelli makes it and then eliminates Djokovic too. Actually I'd prefer if he went out before that to Schwank..:D

Smile Re: Coria in Roland Garros!

It would be a very interesting match to watch. Robredo's style always suited Guille very well when he was the clay king.

Re: Guille in Casablanca

I don't think German press really cared about him all that much to be honest. I guess due to the fact that Boris Becker talked rather negatively of him several years ago such an image might have been...

Re: Guille in Casablanca

Thanks for the article, Truc. I haven't read such a positive one on Guille in ages. RG is much better with Guille in it. I'm eagerly awaiting the draw and I'm still undecided if I want him to play a...

Re: Guille Coria def. Peter Polansky 4/6,6/4,6/3

I guess this was Guille's second best performance this year (the best probably still the loss to Cuevas). I hope he can keep the score against Gicquel close. If he takes a set off the frenchman that...

Re: Aarhus R1: Coria def Wedege 6-2 6-0

That guy has put videos of various players practising on his youtube channel and it is interesting to notice that while all of the other vids don't exceed 100 views Guille's video has already...

Re: Euro 2008 - Austria/Switzerland - Who will win?

Anyone but Germany please.

I don't like how they're getting the cakewalk draw yet again after the WC 2006. Italy, France, Netherlands, Spain and Greece all in the other half of the draw battling it...

Re: Updated: Most likely combo to win at this years 2008 RG?

Nadal will win the men's.

The women's is wide open, but Dementieva is impressing me the most so far.

Nadal-Dementieva would be my favourite combo to win RG.

Re: Let me get this right... about Nadal's schedule

He ran out of energy in Hamburg last year and there was a week of rest between Barcelona and Rome!! It would be such a tremendous effort if he could win all four this year without any rest, but I...

Re: Is Rafa really as good on clay as people think ?

The clay in Monte Carlo suits Rafa more than Hamburg, I agree.
However:
Federer has won there four times, but since Nadal started his dominance on clay he has only once turned up in that tournament...

Re: Is Rafa really as good on clay as people think ?

I guess last year's final would back this up. However if Hamburg had been played before Monte Carlo the result would have been different. Rafa has said he was very tired in Hamburg last year. In fact...

Re: Rafa "not so good on clay" Nadal struggles past Gremelmayr 6-1 6-0

What is Rafa's record against German players? He totally owns them all. I think the last time he lost to one was against Schuettler in Basel some years ago. ;)

Re: Rafa "not so good on clay" Nadal struggles past Gremelmayr 6-1 6-0

If Rafa actually plays in Hamburg I think I know in which part of the draw Dennis does NOT want to be..

Re: Is Rafa really as good on clay as people think ?

He also dominates Stuttgart whenever he plays there in the last couple of years (and even when struggling with injuries last year). And no Barcelona and Stuttgart are not irrelevant. Rafa had to...

Re: 4th Roland Garros Title Is In The Bag

They say the clay in Monte Carlo is very similar to the one at Roland Garros or at least as similar as it gets on the ATP Tour. And it seems like it is the clay at these two events which suits Rafa...

Re: Barça R1: CORIA vs. GABASHVILI ??? WWW

Guille usually plays one set of decent tennis so I expect him to lose in 3. It is encouraging he isn't throwing in the towel after recent losses.

Re: Monte-Carlo Main Draw

When was the last time Nalby made a major impact in a Masters Series on clay? He did come close to beating Roger in the semis in Rome on clay in two years ago, but other than that what exactly has he...

Re: BBC poll: Germany is the best country in the world

Re: Guillermo Coria def. Francesco Aldi 6-4 7-5

Well Guille hit 10 DF's in his loss to Cuevas which was a pretty tight match and Cuevas then nearly upset Gonzalez who won the tournament. I guess Guille can still be competitive by hitting about 10...

Re: Guillermo Coria def. Francesco Aldi 6-4 7-5

Guille would still blow someone like Aldi away as in 2003/04 if is serve wasn't that bad because his baseline game is still very good. He'd probably be the favourite to win this tournament if he...

Re: Vina del Mar R1: Cuevas def. Coria 6-4 4-6 6-3

To us Guille fans this feels like a tournament victory..a set won! Incredible...Now he just needs to draw Gaudio and he'll win a match! Actually if they faced each other now it'd probably be just as...

Re: Who will be the next player to win their home slam?

Unfortunately for Andy his window of opportunity has passed. He made a couple of Wimbledon finals because he didn't exactly have a great deal of competition before facing Roger (Grosjean, Ancic,...
