Re: The Scariest In Form Player on the Other Side of the Net? [Multiple Poll]

If I was a player, I wouldn't want to face Nadal or Murray on the other side of the net.

The sheer mental endurance that you would have to possess to not just give up in the middle of the match...

Re: Clay vs Grass - And why Nadal won't go far this years Wimbledon

If Nadal loses to either Murray or Djokovic, wouldn't that mean that he DID get far in this years Wimbledon?

Re: Who misses Carpet?

not me.

Most knee injuries occur due to you foot being planted, while the rest of you moves in another direction. That combined with the amount of directional shifts that tennis players need to do...

Re: When is Ferrer going to get the respect he deserves?

Frauderer, Nadull, Fakervic, and Mugray don't get the respect they deserve around here. What makes you think Vulture will?

Re: Tsonga: "How did Murray win his slams? Because he's surrounded by 14 people"

Eh, no position to talk Jo.

Just suck it up and get yourself 14 people as well

Re: Best-looking playing style?

Either all court or counterpunch.

My favorite shot is the return winner. That thing is just glorious.

People here tend to overrate serve and volley's aesthetic. Some like McEnroe and Edberg were...

Re: Who is the more naturally talented player?

Tie IMO...

Nadal: Forehand, Net Game
Djokovic: Backhand Drive, Less Disparity between his two wings.
Equal: Serve, Movement

Re: USO QF: Wawrinka overwhelms defending champ A. Murray, 6-4 6-3 6-2

Eh, really wanted Murray to win this whole thing, but whatever.

Good job Stanislas!

Haha, dare to dream of a Stan vs Richie GS backhand final  (with Stan winning of course :) )

Re: Do people seriously believe players from bygone eras could beat the current top 5

I would've loved to see Muster, Mecir and Lendl in todays era. Borg as well.

Re: Do people seriously believe players from bygone eras could beat the current top 5

Who can say, but what's the Point?

For all we know, Flo Mayer could've been the 20's GOAT with his set of skills .

Re: How will be your reaction once Rafa catches 14 GS slam count Pistol Pete?

Agreed, it's way too premature.

Still have Djokovic as the favorite this USO to be honest...

Re: How will be your reaction once Rafa catches 14 GS slam count Pistol Pete?

more like rank their Achievments per year against each other.

Something like their best years against each other.

Something like

Sampras 1994 and 1997 vs Nadal 2008 and 2010

Sampras 94 vs Nadal...

Re: How will be your reaction once Rafa catches 14 GS slam count Pistol Pete?

The best thing to do would be to probably compare Sampras years against Nadals years.

Would one of the boards Statisticians help out?

Re: How will be your reaction once Rafa catches 14 GS slam count Pistol Pete?

I would've agreed with you on that years ago.

That was before Federer, who really defined what "all-court" meant.

Now I think of Pete as more of a net-rusher, who had a great running forehand. I...

I kinda hope Ferrer wins this USO now.

The reaction would be sweet.

Re: How have your favorite and least favorite players changed over time?

Favorite still Tsonga.

Used to cheer for Nadal, now that he's won everything I'd rather someone else win it though. (still like him though.)

Used to despise Murray, and now he's my favorite "big 4"...

Re: Prime Hewitt vs. Murray on grass

Hewitt made his living out of passing, and redirecting the power and aggression of attacking players.

I honestly don't see how he could blow past Murray. Murray will just feed him mid-pace court...

Re: Biggest underachievers since 1995?

Monfils, and I'm not even going to look at his junior results.

At his best, he can be a servebot / ballbasher / grinder all in one. Quite possibly, the perfect player for this era.

Instead he...

Re: Wimbledon R1: Tsonga beats Goffin 76 64 63

Tsonga looking good :)

Just his luck to be drawn against Murray though (his worst possible match-up).
