Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

I wonder what the 'personal issues' are? I hope they are nothing too serious (or could it be the confidence etc problems?)

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

Thats interesting about Capitaine - I knew one of the old team had gone with Perlas (the person we were trying to name at the China Open - presumably Iván Gutiérrez) as I saw him sitting next to...

Re: 2006 pictures

Thanks so much for the great pictures. I especially like the ones where he is talking to the tournament director(?)

Re: Paris? Paris, Texas, maybe...

It is interesting to see which other players we like. I tend to like the more 'emotional' and uptight players most really (although Moya and Ferrero don't usually fit into that category). I always...

Re: Paris? Paris, Texas, maybe...

It will be very odd without Guille  , and I'm not too optimistic about my other favourites either - Moya, Safin, Keifer, Ferrero, and Robredo - Tommy is in the best form - but you never know,...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

All this interest should disappear now that Guille has stopped playing for a while, as there won't be anything new to write about. It will only start again if it is all still happening when he comes...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

Was that the conference where they discussed Gaston and Guille and the apparent benefits of psychology as they related to the two of them? I know I read an article along those lines. I thought it...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

Thanks Fran - you are right, it's unfair and pointless to place too much emphasis on what he says. Obviously he doesn't want his brother to lose to players ranked 200, but he doesn't really have an...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

I think we have probably all come to that conclusion many, many times before, and all read everything with a definite pinch of salt!! Most journalists/articles twist things to whatever angle they...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

I have to admit that I tend to find 'exhibition' matches where players mess around like that very irritating. The odd point is okay - but not a whole match!

I was watching the WTC so I didn't see...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

I haven't really seen exactly what he's been saying. I've seen allusions to his comments, but couldn't quite see why they were being taken so seriously - I can't believe he has any real relevant...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

This isn't really news, however it's quite an interesting article on the statistics of Guille's serve problem!!

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

I think that you have summed up the position very well - I think it does come down to Guille seeing how things really are, accepting what he sees, deciding what he really wants to do and then doing...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

This is all very interesting - I suppose if the motivation is gone it is also hard to be motivated to practice hard, so he probably hasn't been training as he should. That might well be why he felt...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

I thought the last paragraph of this article was interesting - that he might be over training. He does seem to work extremely hard, so perhaps the first thing he really needs is a proper rest.

One...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

You usually beat me to the most interesting ones!! - but I'll share any others I find. :yeah:

The comments about 'Nelly' are very vague - my take on it is that it has just been considered and will...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

Lots of articles about Guille! they all seem to think he is doing the right thing.

I thought this one was interesting http://www.clarin.com/diario/2006/05/21/deportes/d-08510.htm
which implies...

Re: Guille in TENNIS magazine

It's a rather sweet, interesting article - especially now we know how it has all panned out a bit since then.

I think that what Guille went through with the whole doping issue, when he was only 19,...

Re: Good-(BYE) - Guille in Hamburg Tournament Thread

They are really tough matches - and he hasn't always played his best against lower ranked players in the past anyway!

All of these players can play good tennis sometimes, and although they shouldn't...

Re: Good-(BYE) - Guille in Hamburg Tournament Thread

Thanks from me as well for your excellent report Birte, it doesn't sound as if he played too poorly, and his d-f count is improving. It was very sweet of Pico to commiserate like that after the match...

Re: Good-(BYE) - Guille in Hamburg Tournament Thread

I think that there is a limit to the number of comments he can make after these results!

I agree about how difficult it must be to actually find the confidence when he is at such a big...

Please, we really need feedback from the match to answer all those questions!! - and comments from Guille as well (although I'm sure he will say the same old things - Djokovic played very well, I'm...

Re: *guillermo coria NEWS thread*

hmm! who knows - Guille might just be about to embark on a complete change of fortune, win RG & Wimbledon and wow everyone!!!

I suspect not, but as the experiences of Ginepri and Blake illustrate,...
