Re: Bjorkman: Cocky Americans Lose

The interviewer says "Blake is sure of winning," but did Blake say that? Link, please. If Blake did, thumbs down. If Blake didn't, then the interviewer needs a refresher course in not jumping to...

Re: Stadium seating: A Poll

I voted behind the baseline, too. You get to experience serves and down-the-lines coming your way, and you sometimes get a better look at challengeable paint-the-line balls.

Stadium seating: A Poll

If you had the run of the lower tier of seats in a surround stadium, where would you sit? What would be the advantage to sitting there (as far as enjoyment or learning or other reasons go)?

Re: How has MTF helped you?

1. The flag thing (Although now the pop-up flag message only reads, "country flag")
2. New words in German, French. New Spanish idioms.
3. Improved familiarity with the surname-geography thing...

Re: How many days will Paris actually spend in jail?

Isn't it that the more you're convicted, the stronger the punishment, or something like that?

Hilton was on parole, which means she had been convicted. Once you're caught and convicted of something...

Re: Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone on MTF

A little balance, please.

A reason to party is good, but is there a Mexican national who will tell us what you do on this day in your neck of the Mexican woods?

Re: Kolya is a brutal, evil person!!!

When I see the Murray mix, I think of the X man and his old ponytail. Speaking of letters, a vowel-man mix must surely look awful.

Re: Kolya is a brutal, evil person!!!

In this photo, Davy looks like the R.E.M. frontman, while Tursonov looks like Spadea.

Re: Tennis savants?

Thanks for the replies.

Blaze, how so, Gaudio? I seem to recall reading about his knowing some of his fellow Argentine tennis players when they were younger. On second thought, no. That was Coria.

Red face Tennis savants?

Okay, MTF. I'll stop lurking to learn and feeling guilty and impotent about being able ONLY to ask questions about a sport I like to watch, but rarely ever played.

Are there, or have there ever...

Cool Re: Acapulco: Brief History (again)

Please allow me somewhat of a digression.

Are there any other traditional events happening in the Acapulco area, either immediately before or after the Abierto?

¿Hay sucesos tradicionales que...

Re: Most annoying accent in the world?

This thread is very HUMBLING and educational. Or maybe I'm just a hermit. As a citizen of a very expansive country where I've known about the variety of accents (US), I had no idea that there could...

El Revés de la Fortuna

Hay mucha ironía en el éxito de Nadal contra Andi el pato. Gracias a Dios! Me alegra porque no hay peor que un talento que también es egoísta. En la tele (ESPN--USA) Andi había comparado a Nadal...

"Bambi" Slays the Presumptious Quack-Quack

Smug Rodduck eats the Bambi comment he made during an ESPN interview just prior to the tape-delayed match. Rodduck compares the younger Nadal to innocent, doesn't-stand-a-chance-against-me baby deer...

Re: Television promotion for Davis Cup Finals 2004

Thanks, croat123.
Propi, It makes sense now for Spaniards not to have seen the commercial, particularly if they reside in Andalucía, since they already know what delights abound there.

Television promotion for Davis Cup Finals 2004

Several questions (I'm assuming, if you don't mind, that residents of Spain on the forum, or anyone with access to Spanish cable TV, can provide more informed answers):

1) How long has Spanish...

It's 7:35pm central, and the ESPN boo-ya guy has just presented a segment on why football players spike the ball, during a worthless show called "Monday Night Countdown." ESPN2 is showing a...
