Re: 1996-1998 Americans Rising?

My question would be why any of those guys are even playing Kalamazoo. Tiafoe's gonna be great, the rest are still up in the air.

Re: Jump foreward 5 years>> predict 2015 Top-5 rankings!

Fernandes retired because of continuing back injuries and Berta never really went pro.

Re: Gstaad QF: Thiem def. Carreno Busta 6-4, 3-6, 6-2

MTF should make a rule where you cannot erroneously bring up another player or fans of a player when it has nothing to do with the conversation.

Re: germany is the new hotspot for vultures!

Vulturing is my least favourite MTF terminology. If I told you that you could do whatever you do for a living, and for one week it would be a bit easier and you would make additional money, would...

Re: The death of the single handed backhand :'(

But look where his bottom knuckle is, it's way too high on the grip to be a continental. Just google Dimitrov Backhand Grip and look at the pictures.

Re: The death of the single handed backhand :'(

He definitely hits both his forehand and his backhand with an eastern grip.

Re: The death of the single handed backhand :'(

He doesn't hit his topspin backhand with a continental grip, only his slice backhand. Hold your racquet with a continental grip on the backhand side and if you have a correct contact point (arm...

Re: Lucas Pouille

Looking at the 93-94 kids, I think Pouille will have the best career. I definitely see him in the Top 10 in the Future, maybe Top 5.

Re: The death of the single handed backhand :'(

Aside from the continental grip which will send that ball into the stands.

Re: The death of the single handed backhand :'(

I always look at level of coordination in kids. If they have low to regular coordination/motor skills I recommend two hands, if they are well above average in those things I give the option of using...

Re: Grand Slam Game: For every F win, you claim pts equal to your opponent's GS count

The best way to play this game would be to count the total number of slams involved in each tournament. Because if you beat Federer in the semi-final and Tsonga in the final, it shouldn't go down as...

Re: CH Granby R2: (Q) Felix Auger Aliassime d. (8) Darian King 7-5 6-3

Trained at Canadian club in a Canadian city by a Canadian coach, but America's looking to take credit. Sounds right.

Re: Félix Auger-Aliassime

It's just how Junior tournament scheduling worked out. Canada went on a Central American tour when they were bringing their first year 16's to the G4's and G5's and they all happened to be clay....

Re: Generation Useless?

You would have probably laughed if in 2012 someone told you Wawrinka would win as many slams as Murray. Why don't we wait until their careers are done before we make this judgement.

Re: Rublev after losing to Robredo: 'In a year I will beat him easily'

They need game, results and the right attitude. If you have the best game in the world, but you walk on court thinking you're second best, you're probably not going to win.

Re: Rublev after losing to Robredo: 'In a year I will beat him easily'

No one has ever rose to greatness with the mentality that they aren't the best/going to be the best. Cockiness is an attribute every great athlete needs.

Re: FRA Futures 15K Roumane 14yo def. (8) ATP-682 Silva 6-3, 6-3

I always wonder the logic for a coach who takes a 13 year old and tells him he's not playing any Junior events, and going straight onto tour.

Re: Newport R1: Smith def. (3/WC) Tomic 6-3 7-5

If I was Tomic I would switch the flag in front of my name, and then go out of my way to beat every Australian I can.

Re: Most talentless younger generation in ATP history

So on the ranking after Djokovic's 19th birthday, he was ranked 63 in the World.

Kyrgios was ranked 46
Coric (currently ranked 37) turns 19 in November
Chung was ranked 70
Zverev (currently ranked...

Re: Was the racquet change worth it for Federer?

He's number 2 in the world. He just made it to the Wimbledon final, ahead of 255 other players. What part of this is done? Because he lost to the world number 1?

Re: Modern Ball Kids Would Not Survive 20 Years Ago

Not to mention the officials, like the one who dropped to the ground after Darian King's racquet slightly touched her.

Re: Gasquet or Wawrinka : Better Backhand

I would say that Technically-speaking Gasquet has a better backhand, BUT Wawrinka has enough confidence to go 100% with his more often than Gasquet.

Gasquet has more variety on his backhand than...
