Re: How to beat Nadal and which players can do it?

Sure, there are one-handers and there are one-handers. Gustavo Kuerton probably would not have had trouble with Nadal. With regards to Del Potro, they'll have to play more matches to really tell....

Re: How to beat Nadal and which players can do it?

Obviously taller with a two hander is a matchup problem. But the MAIN matchup issue for Nadal is the ability to generate angles off both wings (especially the backhand). The biggest challenge for...

Re: Nadals 2009 Aus Open outfit!

Surprising...I'd thought they'd leave that look a few years until he was too old to pull it off. Well, 22 isn't exactly young anymore tennis-wise. I'm scared to imagine short hair though...

Re: 'Yes, we're probably talking about you' chat thread

To americans, that is the totality of greece. Just like in paris, where la vie en rose is playing on every street corner.

Re: Wimbledon Final 2008: Nadal downs Federer 6-4 6-4 6-7(5) 6-7(8) 9-7 in a heroic f

I think he's been "back" ever since the start of the clay season. After Monte Carlo, it seemed obvious he was going to play exceptionally well on grass. The issue is all of his "big matches" were...

Re: Neighbor's grass is always faster

No one here is mentioning that the grass was not slowed for the first time in 2001. It was gradually slowed each year from the early '90's to 2001. I have not seen any evidence that it has slowed...

Re: Lynette Federer on Rafa

It's not as though the son is any better than the parents, so I don't see any reason he shold be ashamed of them. I mean, right before wimbledon he made that comment about it now being in doubt...

Re: 'Yes, we're probably talking about you' chat thread

I haven't read a single post saying anything BAD about the final. I've seen plenty not overpraising it.

Edit: that is not from a raging fedtard.

Re: 'Yes, we're probably talking about you' chat thread

I wouldn't get too excited. Remember before the first rain delay, when you thought neither player was playing well (I did, at least, and a lot of other people too)...well the quality didn't increase...

Re: Nadal's timewasting - who's to blame?

Every sport has rules that are never enforced. For instance, they hardly ever call travelling in basketball. Imagine if every law were enforced...it would be absolutely ridiculous. It's not special...

Re: 'Yes, we're probably talking about you' chat thread

Whoops, misread it. I assumed the "robert" federer thing was an intentional slip to mock people who overhype the niceness of everyone.

Edit: "Great result mainly for the excessive bandwagoning to...

Re: Favorite 5 players who haven't won a slam title?

I tend to say major, and I occasionally "slip" with a "slam." But I accept the only relevance this has is that I like my image to be that of a knowledgeable person, not anything inherently faulty...

Re: Favorite 5 players who haven't won a slam title?

This is getting cluttered, is the only debate at this point whether there is a significant difference between terminology and words in general?

That is, do you concede the fact that if a word is...

Re: 'Yes, we're probably talking about you' chat thread

She grabbed Rafa's leg to congratulate him. I thought it was very nice. And Fed's dad was positively beaming when Rafa went up there. But then again, George is being sarcastic.

Re: WHY is Nadal's worst surface hard court?

1. He moves worse.

2. Everyone else moves better.

3. The court doesn't take his spin, weakining both his groundies and his serve. The second serve is all spin, he needs the unpredictable bounce...
