Re: Dolgopolov calls gays "not normal" on Twitter, goes on homophobic rant on Instagr

Dolgopolov is the really long haired guy, who wears the headband with a pony tail? Or he wears it in some kind of bun?

I suppose these ultra-traditional views on the roles of men and women is an...

Re: Did Federer really choke 2009 AO

As I recall, it felt like Federer had all the momentum at the beginning, but couldn't capitalise on that momentum. It wasn't a choke. As usual, Nadal frustrated him, until his technique broke down...

Re: AO Final: Stanislas Wawrinka def. Rafael Nadal 63 62 36 63

Perhaps the MTO was warranted, perhaps not. You're right, I don't have access to Nadal's medical records, so I can't claim to know anything with 100% certainty. I'm suspicious about it because of the...

Re: AO Final: Stanislas Wawrinka def. Rafael Nadal 63 62 36 63

I don't see why it's stupid to suggest such a thing. Professional sportsmen are not immune to the psychological effects of being booed by a huge crowd. Anyone could be affected by an outpouring of...

Re: AO Final: Stanislas Wawrinka def. Rafael Nadal 63 62 36 63

Well done Wawrinka! :)

I don't doubt that Nadal was carrying some sort of injury. He always is. But that was some bad acting in the second set. It was embarassing, like watching a slow motion replay...

Re: 2014 Live commentary thread vol4

Eurosport commentators:

"Nadal just can't move. He can't serve. It's a question of if, or when, he'll retire. The crowd are going to be very embarassed and ashamed, for booing such an ambassador of...

Re: Player Bashing Rule: Feedback

I think I changed my flag to the wrong Korea

But I'm gonna cover that up by saying I support the admins. :yeah:

Re: How far would Clayray go at this RG?

He would have lost first round because he's injured.

Re: Which Grand Slam will crown a homegrown winner again?

I was thinking that it would be OK to retroactively give Novak's Wimbledon to the EU?

Re: Which Grand Slam will crown a homegrown winner again?

I don't know why you're asking this question. It happens all the time!

The EU has a really good record at its two home slams, having won 16 9 of the last 17 men's singles championships. :D

Edit: Aw...

Re: Greatest male tennis player to have never won a slam?

I want to say Henman. I don't know why? Because he won Wimbledon in 2001. Rafter didn't stand a chance in that final. Good times.

In other news, the hynotherapy is going great. Well worth...

Re: ATP President Brad Drewett dies from ALS

It's very sad. Of course I did not know the man, but a good friend of the family died from the same disease. It's so horrible seeing the person you knew trapped inside a body that isn't working...

Re: USA Today article: Why are gay male tennis players hiding in the closet?

Well that's an interesting topic. I'm not sure where I stand on it. I remember reading that the risk of birth defects for cousins is quite small for example. I think it gets a lot higher for...

Re: USA Today article: Why are gay male tennis players hiding in the closet?

Man, I try not to take this shitpile of a forum seriously, but ironbmike... your posts are unbelievably nasty. Being gay isn't a sexual fetish. That must be really insulting to read. Gay people love...

Re: USA Today article: Why are gay male tennis players hiding in the closet?

Leave Boris Becker alone. The man has retired now. Why do we have to drag that man's private business into the spotlight, again and again?

Re: Vajda: "I find it hard to grasp Nadal's physical problems."

Federer already beat Sampras at Wimbledon two years earlier though. And he would have won the tournament, except he was stopped by a force even greater than Pete.

What's wrong with you man?...

Re: IW R4: Federer tries to tank, Wawrinka says no; 6-3 (4)6-7 7-5

If they're both healthy, does that mean they would both win? I don't think this is possible from what I've read on this forum. Both players can *appear* healthy, but they can only keep...

Re: Doping in Tennis Thread (No accusations without proof)

You're right. But it took Agassi's book to prove to the public that the ATP has covered up a positive test for a top player.

Re: Real match: Novak Djokovic vs Serena Williams for charity at AO in 2014

As a man, I'd find it difficult to watch one of my kind beaten and humiliated. It would make me feel inferior, so I hope they don't allow this match to happen.

Remember Apollo Creed vs Ivan Drago....

Marc Rosset/Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor vs José Manuel Barroso/Serena Williams.

Who would win?

Re: Will Nadal be ready to defend RG this year?

Fair enough, I agree. But Zeballos is number 11 in the race you know. Novak's had a good run as transitional champion, but his window of opportunity is closing I think. :p

Re: Will Nadal be ready to defend RG this year?

How can you hold that against Borg, when he was the greatest clay and grass court player of his era? He was unarguably the greatest clay courter until Nadal came along, and possibly the greatest...

Re: Sao Paulo F: Nadal wins the title!! Crushes Nalbandian 6-2 6-3

Well, his knees can't be that bad to have a final and a tournament win, after two weeks of returning to the tour. It will be interesting to see how the rest of his season unfolds.
