Laver's Biggest Dissapointment - 1972 WCT Finals

A great article and what a match it must have been! I have only seen the 30 minute highlight package from the finals.

Re: The GOAT discussions Thread

Well said. I couldn't even be bothered to responding to that poster anymore as his post does reek of hypocrisy as you pointed out so well.

Re: The GOAT discussions Thread

Simply too ignorant and stupid to warrant a thought out response. I would love to see you use that argument against a panel of tennis historians, journalists and players who have seen all the greats...

Re: The GOAT discussions Thread

The 50s and 60s pro ranks were some of the strongest in the history of the sport. Sure, not the depth, but the players at the top were incredible. One can only play in the conditions of their time...

Re: GOAT with Muscles

Umm Ken Rosewall not only ONLY had a sliced backhand, it was considered one of the greatest shots of all time. Add to that he was one of the quickest players about the court, had incredibly quick...

Re: When should AO be held?

March or April even when they have school holidays. Too hot in January.

Re: Federer fanboying over Laver (video)

Happy to see that Laver is back at the Aussie Open again and he is proud that the Centre Court is named after him! Rod was an incredible player and Roger gives him his due respect which is great to...

Re: AO R4: Hewitt def. Raonic (23), 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-3.

Yes that was awesome to see Joanna Griggs and her utter joy jumping up and down when he won. Priceless! :worship:

Campras! That is hilarious! I was thinking a similar thing when I saw him walking ... ;)

I wonder how Hewitt would go with Tomic? :)

Re: Most hate-filled forum

I agree. Very sad. But the best advice is to ignore them, keep posting objectively and positively and don't worry about all the negatives. Like attracts like - just let them fight amongst themselves...

Re: Australian Open Rd 3: Tomic downs Dogo 4-6,7-6,7-6,2-6,6-3

Brentos is just probably high on adrenalin atm - or heaven knows what. I was laughing at his post too. But we do have a lot of promising juniors so I hope Aussie players can make a resurgence in the...

Re: Australian Open Rd 3: Tomic downs Dogo 4-6,7-6,7-6,2-6,6-3

To me it looked like an instinctive reaction, thinking it may be out he lifted his racket. Seeing no move from the umpire he continued play. I don't think he did anything wrong at all. It was all in...

Re: Tomic painful to watch

I like watching Bernard. It reminds me of watching Chris Evert's forehand with a wooden racket when she was about 12, and Ken Rosewall's backhand (although not as good of course - only Federer's has...

Re: After Federer's win, who are the top 10 players in history?

Interesting ... IMO Rosewall was perhaps the most versatile of all the great players and there is no doubt about his greatness over an extended period - I mean in the world's top 3 for 15 years is...

Re: AO R2: Tomic Def Querrey 36 63 76(3) 63

The slice reminded me a little (although nowhere near as good of course) as that of the legendary Ken Rosewall who had arguably the best slice backhand in the history of the game. I am a big fan of...

Re: AO R1: aTOMIC sends Verdasco packing 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-2, 7-5

Re: AO R1: aTOMIC sends Verdasco packing 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-2, 7-5

Are most of the posters on here about 10 years old or what? Seems like a lot of children posting negative and nasty comments to me. Thankfully there seem to be a few adults around that understand...
