Re: When you remember Marin Cilic won the US Open...

One of the most impressive slam runs of recent times. No fluke. No ifs. No buts. The guy just elevated his level so far above his normal level that it was laughable. You just had to shake your head...

Re: Federer actually have 9 distinct Masters

Honestly...all this boohockey over Masters events. :) They are great events most, no doubt...the daily financial life-blood of the tour. They are great to have, especially the last few years when...

Re: Cincinnati R3: Roger Federer def. Kevin Anderson 6-1 6-2

Ooh la freaking la! Transcendent tennis once again from the Maestro.

Re: Cincinnati R3: Lopez def. [8] Nadal 5-7 6-4 7-6(3)

For Fedal....

..."is it my fault? Is it my fault? We've been missing each other! We've been missing each other!".

Well played Mr Lopez...tidy.

Re: Cincinatti R2: [8] R.Nadal def. J.Chardy 6-3 6-4

....I was alluding to a marked change in demeanor and ability too great in my opinion to be attestable to anything other than applied/removed medication or stimulant. I surmise that perchance Nadal...

Re: Cincinatti R2: [8] R.Nadal def. J.Chardy 6-3 6-4

A notable change with Nads today....either he is on something or off something. Much brighter, more eager and alert, much more running in him early in the match. I am guessing they have knocked back...

Re: Predict the top 10 in 2018

I am pretty sure that Federer is wanting to outlast Nadal....and imo there isn't a chance Nadal is around in 2018. He could be gone by next year.

Re: Nadal will win the 2015 USO

Sad, eh? I remember when he was the one feeding people bagels and the tables have turned.

Re: Who Is Djokovic's "Main" Rival Right Now?

Voted Stan for the slams....Fed is probably still the one most likely to beat him BO3 ex-clay. Murray should have been winning many more against him - hopefully this new team and more mature approach...

Re: Murray Greatest of all time Lob?

Murray's is certainly up there....a very reliable depth and great disguise. Peak Fed had a great lob on the bh side (slice lob too! ;) ). Nishikori has one of the best current lobs....amazing...

Re: Montreal QF : (4) Kei Nishikori def. (7) Nadal 6-2 6-4

Nadal was absolute junk....and that is the best he has played in ages. Not looking good.

Kei was pretty good, but a bit up and down. Hopefully he can put it all together this year and win something...

Re: Federer's inside-in forehand from WTF-06 in an endless loop

Those guys muscled the ball big, bit no one hit the precision and whip of the peak Federer forehand....the ball just went where he told it.

Re: Is Federer most talented player of all time?

Talent is such an abstract concept when in requires so many other factors to bring to success. Privilege, circumstance, hard work, hunger, diligence, resilience. I mean there is every chance that the...

Re: Where Djokovic would be if he didnt have blackout in 2008-2011, and then 2012-201

I disagree....Fed seemed green about the gills....diminished physically. With no offense, your assertions that one can't reach the semis of a slam, is unfounded. Why not? It depends on so many...

Re: When all is said and done, will Djokovic be a GOAT candidate?

I think that chance has passed him by - asking a 9 slammer to double his count from 28 on is a big ask. For me, his problem has been not having the "final day" mode that Fed (and then Nadal...

Re: Uniform Conditions are Bad for Tennis

As we have discussed before, service stats ≠ reflection of court speed. It is much more complicated than that. It's to do with surface and ball characteristics, in combination with the angle of...

Re: Was that Federer's last real chance to win a slam?

If he dedicates himself for another year or two, he is very likely to have at least another one chance imo.

There is no way after a days rest that he was gassed after 2 sets on grass, even at...

Re: How do you rate Olympic gold?

This. A depleted M1000 field. The Olympic name buys it some degree of esteem, but sports with their own professional tour and millionaire stars shouldn't be at the Olympics.

Re: Greater grasscourt player. Djokovic or Nadal

Neither of them are terribly great grasscourters....I would say Nole was slightly more skillful and Nadal, at peak, a better mover on the grass. Both took advantage of slower, higher bouncing Center...

Re: Wimbledon Final: Djokovic def. Federer 7-6(1) 6-7(10) 6-4 6-3

All the trash talk here is expected, but still lame.

Fed's grass skill is off the charts, even still....but to defeat the world no.1 on that slow court, at almost 34....Fed needs to redline it and...

Re: Wimbledon Final: Djokovic def. Federer 7-6(1) 6-7(10) 6-4 6-3

I am not too gutted by this one. I really felt Fed could win today, and he gave himself chances....but ultimately it wasn't to be. Fed still has way better grass chops than anyone, but the younger,...
