Nothing compared to 2005 when Labour had 355 seats (60 seat majority) with 35.2% of votes.

Britain was never going into the euro, Blair spent more conservatively than Brown, and Bush responded...

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

Whether he stays as leader or not, he definitely needs a vacation from politics. Hopefully the party gives him a good long holiday. UKIP need him to win by-elections in the next two years,...

He's absolutely right. The trade unions lost Labour yet another election.

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

Indeed, Nick Clegg holds with 2,500 majority. I'm actually happy for him. He's been the victim of ridiculously brutal abuse over the last 5 years.

UKIP have officially won a seat for the first time in a GE. Big drop in majority since the by-election though.

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

"The UK". You really think the country is united on one opinion?

Personally, I will always criticize any country that elects Obama twice.

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

They'd have a better chance with Yvette Cooper. Securing the women's vote is more important than the left-wing vote. Clearly the SNP benefited from a woman in charge.

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

Tories have actually gained a seat from Labour in Wales. Remarkable.

England and Wales truly going in the opposite direction to Scotland.
