Re: Will Jim "Mattress Mac" McIngvale make a bigger goose of himself at TMC than in 2003?

Mac lost street cred when I saw that he actually paid some guys to do cheering for Andy Roddick against Jeff Morrison of all people 2 years ago at the Westside Claycourt tourney.

Actually his TMC...

Re: how do i get sponsered

Boutter turned pro very late like mid-20's because he went to engineering school. Waske I believe did similar graduate work before turning pro.

However they were already damn good players who just...

Re: US OPEN

Ahh.. I think Sarge had too much experience for him.

Even though he lost I think his mental attitude is getting better and he certainly fights a lot better than a lot of the other Frenchmen, from...

Re: ~*Musketeer-to-be*~Richard Gasquet

Yes but Via to be a top claycourter and do well at Roland Garros you still have to do reasonably well on hard courts to maintain that ranking and have a seeding.

Richard's game is obviously not like...

Re: ~*Musketeer-to-be*~Richard Gasquet

His performance on hard courts this summer has been surprisingly bad for a guy who has so much potential for an attacking all court game, starting with the retirement against Jeanpierre, and then...

Re: Tomas Berdych.. Big talent?

He's more than assembly line I'd say. He's got a real nice forehand and takes a very nice cut at it without a very big windup.

Re: Marcos Baghdatis def. Gregory Carraz 5-7 7-6 7-5!!

Marcos played qualie's of Roland Garros and Wimbledon already this year.

COnsidering hard courts are his best surface I think its a safe bet he'll show up. He should be within the ranking cutoff.

Re: Raquets that play all by themselves...are they a good thing?

Most of the guys still use mid size or mid plus rackets, and lots of lead tape for power and dampening.

regardless of the racket you need the technique even more to generate power.

Re: How about Gasquet!!

He has an ear infection and is resting for a couple weeks per his official site.

18 year olds need to have other hobbies besides just tennis otherwise they will burnout.

Hopefully he can come back...

Re: Will PHM make it back?

Sjenster I think PHM's injury was with his left wrist not his forehand wrist but yes you are right he is a Bolleteirri product.

Talented guy though I think that loss to Youzhny really messed him up...

Re: Who here on the board, has ever met a professional tennis player

One of my best friends went to high school with doubles specialist Tommy Shimada who plays for Japan DC but is really US born and bred, and I had the chance to meet him this year.

Tom is a super...

Re: The Junior No. 1s: Where are they now?

I don't think you can call the #1's since 2000 busts yet because it really does take a few years to grow into the senior tour now.

For those like Muller and Baghdatis it is really hard because if...

Re: ~*Musketeer-to-be*~Richard Gasquet

Matches against Ferrer are the ones he will basically need to win to get into the top 50-75 first. I've seen Ferrer and he is good but not outstanding; he forces you to take the match to him.

Still...

Re: Gasquet d Robredo (6) 61 64 at Mercedes Cup

Fed is the Mozart of tennis and nobody is even close. Gasquet has a really different game than Roger.

Gasquet, at least when I saw him in 2002 doesn't rely much on the slice backhand. His game...

Re: Donald Young In Qualy Semis

Let's not jump the gun too fast here... Donald doesn't have any ATP points prior to this result and lost 1st round in his futures debut. Monfils is probably still a much better player at this point

Re: Another SLAM for Gael Monfils

It is the least comfortable surface for Monfils so for him to win it is a good statement.

Re: American Tennis Sensation

He's not turning full time pro yet.

He played a futures event a couple weeks ago and lost 4 and 4 to Robert Yim the Boys 18 champ from a couple years ago. Yim is like 400 something in the world so I...

I understand Eurosport is following Marcos Baghdatis around for a full year as he makes the transition to full-time pro.

Is this program out yet and has anyone seen it?
