Re: Federer: ''I'm a better player than in '04, I believe I can win the Australian Op

I think Roger is just trying to stay positive. I mean I definitely don't think he is playing better now than in the AO 2004, but maybe he needs to try and tell himself that to psych himself up....

Re: If Rafa wins the 2014 AO with this draw, he really earned it....

Well said. But people will always whine and complain, unless things favour their guy. In that case it is fair ;)

Some draws are harder than others but a slam win is a slam win. You have to beat who...

NADALRECORD, your trolling is so dull and not even funny. Same goes for f1yer. In fact you are just saying the same things as each other ;)

You two should look too Abel or Moozza, trolling goods....

Re: If Tomic beats Nadal, will he go from Zero to Hero?

Yes I think he would become a hero in Australia, though that doesn't always last. People are quite fickle.I don't think it will happen though. He might scrape a set if he is inspired, but I foresee a...

Re: If Rafa wins the 2014 AO with this draw, he really earned it....

People have to beat who is put in front of them. Admittedly Novak's draw seems easier at the moment, and Nadal has had some easy draws like at US Open 2010 or US Open 2013. But does that mean there...

Re: What was the most painful loss for you, as a fan?

Yeah that's what I thought you meant. I wasn't meaning you, but just the Nadal, Djokovic or Fed fans who use the "mental midget" excuse for every loss. There was a long time where Novak didn't...

Re: What was the most painful loss for you, as a fan?

The mentality excuse isn't a valid one IMO. People only get mental blocks because someone has beaten them so many times that they make them doubt themselves. Or some people just aren't strong enough...

Re: More talented: Safin or Nalbandian?

Both extremely talented guys, but I would have to vote for Safin based on achievements :)

Re: What was the most painful loss for you, as a fan?

I disagree. Nole had a lot of opportunites to win the AO in the 4th set. But I guess it's similar in a way to the FO 2013. Rafa didn't have as many opportunities to win the 4th as Nole did at AO, but...

Re: Predict 2014 For These MTF Members

I go on TF but only as a guest. I don't think there is a poster that sounds like Mr Willy though. Isn't !will gay? Or am I getting mixed up?

Re: Australian Open Draw Thread

Whatever happens, there will be the usual conspiracies from bitter fanbases. Very boring! It's only unfair if it's your favourite with the harder draw or someone you hate with an easy draw huh?

Re: Top 10 Unseeded Players at the Aussie Open

I would agree with this list, a lot of them are capable of upsets IMO. But we will see, maybe someone unexpected will surprise us :)

Re: Which of these tennis upsets was the most impressive?

With all due respect Franie, I don''t think Rafa was injured against Darcis either. Sure he didn't play his best match, but I don't think he was injured and Darcis was injured himself so.... but...

Re: Rank the level of play/runs of the last five US Open winners

I actually meant to put 2009 first. The semi final performance was amazing, and then to go on to beat a player with as much HC prowess as Roger in the final? Amazing.
Novak was great in the 2011...

Re: Rank the level of play/runs of the last five US Open winners

The last five for me would be :) Admittedly Nadal's draws were easy, but that's not really his fault.

2009
2010
2013

Re: Bold prediction: Novak will have a better 2014 than 2011

I think this is a jinx thread ;)

That amazing streak, 3 slams, a 11-1 record against Fedal, 5 masters... it will be extremely tough to beat that. Only Federer's 2006 stands as a better year, though...

Re: Which of these tennis upsets was the most impressive?

I like Nadal and I have never said HC or grass are bad for his knees. I'm not gonna magically say that, coincidentally, the surface he is best on is the surface that is easy for him to stay healthy...

Re: Which of these tennis upsets was the most impressive?

Shepherd, I am not sure why you are replying to Jowilly. If you go into the non tennis section, he has you on his (very long) ignore list. I don't think he would even read that if he didn't, he just...

Re: If Murray draws Hewitt early at AO, who wins?

Hmm this is a tough one. Hewitt is not the player he was but he does thrive in front of a home crowd. His trademark never say die attitude gets heightened. I am not sure how Murray will be playing....

Re: Which of these tennis upsets was the most impressive?

Nadal and Djokovic often don't play warm up tournaments for Wimbledon though do they? I don't think that you can say someone lost because of that. Rosol played an amazing match at Wimbledon, I have...
