Re: Brad Gilbert gives Djokovic the kiss of death

 at accusing NYC like that. Next he'll be forced to take hemlock to leave the world of moralizing MTFers who declare him to be a corrupting force to our children.

About the thread (and going...

Will Dr. Ivo be the RG Ace Leader?

He only played two matches, but has 57 aces. Thats 22 more than the next challenger, Ancic. You can follow it here:

Re: Borg rates himself as one of top 4 tennis players ever

I've actually heard that there was some dispute over Connor's record because a new tour was forming and so things got weird in terms of tournament win count. + there is the whole thing with the...

Re: Borg rates himself as one of top 4 tennis players ever

Actually, regarding "what if Federer stopped playing" I think the best response (Becker's maybe?) is that he would be the greatest underachiever of all time.

Re: Borg rates himself as one of top 4 tennis players ever

Those are two different cases. Again, Emerson is a strange case because he was unable to win during the open era. Clearly, he was winning in a pool that did not include the best. Court on the...

Re: Benneteau's chances against Ljubo?

Same as most of his other matches at this tournament...0% Although, Benneteau seems to defy that number, so who knows?

Re: Quarterfinalists' avarage ranking played

Thanks.
As an aside, how the hell do you do all the number crunching you do? Those few numbers made me bored and despondent, so I didn't finish the list. Your work is amazing (if detrimental to...

Re: Borg rates himself as one of top 4 tennis players ever

Was this about Emerson? Because in that case, I don't think it applies, because he wasn't playing the best of his generation when he won, and after tennis became open, he proceeded to lose.
But in...

Re: Note to Drucker: They're called AMS Events idiot!

I guess radical was just the wrong word choice, since that implies that it would be a significant change...I don't see how it could be a change if it already exists, unless he was actually saying...

Re: Definitely can be one of the best French opens- Ever

You mean best finals...which would probably prevent it from being the best tournament as a whole, since the two finals people would have then basically carved everyone else to pieces.

I find it...

Re: Note to Drucker: They're called AMS Events idiot!

Haha, maybe its radical in terms of not being within the bounds of logic...

Admittedly, I don't read his piece. Is he being satirical in some really strange way?

Re: Borg rates himself as one of top 4 tennis players ever

Emerson...the whole titles during the non-Laver years sorta dissuades me from picking him. Its like the Graf question, but made worse because it was an institutional factor. I mean, what if the...

Sorry, I shouldn't have used the  there, I was being sarcastic about not knowing the (lack of) difference. I was actually under the impression that he meant something else instead of...

Holy crap thats retarded...add CBS with ESPN to the wall of things that are brining shame to American Tennis.

Re: Borg rates himself as one of top 4 tennis players ever

Both were notable for melting down the year after hitting a dominant stride...Roger has shown that this affliction is unlikely by following up well in 05 and 06.

Re: Prediction: Sunday will be a banner day for the swiss

Lets be clear...Martina's good but the focus on Federer is on doing an ACTUAL slam...holding 4 titles in a row (I firmly believe that tennis is not a yearlong sport, its a 52 week one). They are two...

Re: Ljubicic All Surface player? ;)

Federer needs to make the Semis (ie. play) at the Paris Indoor to make the Semis of every one of those tournaments, plus the TMC. He already has the quarters everywhere...interesting that indoor...

Re: RG Quarterfinalists: Time on court

Wow! What a final that would have been...two of the best RG performers of all time facing off. Although, judging by the scoreline, I guess the 1987 final was better? Anyone remember these and can...

Re: Quarterfinalists' avarage ranking played

To be fair to my fellow Fed fans...his Strength of Draw will skyrocket after playing Ancic and either Nalby or Davydenko, while Nadal's will stall without much benefit from Novak (and maybe JB! ...

Yea well, if the rankings themselves are flawed, what can I do? ;)

I did the best I could and helped out Ancic. :D

Re: Quarterfinalists' avarage ranking played

Really? I don't think so. I'd say that average isn't really an effective tool, because I'm sure Nadal would rather play two players ranked 50 and 51 rather than a guy ranked 100 and Federer at 1. ...

Re: Why do the Bryan brothers talk about Rafa naked?

You can blab all you want about tennis skillz and sexual orientation, but I draw the line at intelligence!

They may have dropped out, but I'd say 2 years at Stanford is enough to not be a "moron."
