Re: Ymer Brothers

It'll almost certainly be Mikael and Markus Eriksson. As long as he's fit to play five-setters, they had a try-out camp last week and he couldn't play five sets there. It's a perfect level of...

Re: Stockholm R1: A. Zverev def. M. Ymer 7-6 6-7 6-4

Imo Elias wouldn't have done any better with this WC, Mikael's clearly the more suited for faster surfaces even if he also thrives on clay. Mikael's ability to come back after losing the first set is...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 28

This is like a junior match(well, duh). But the quality of tennis is pretty good and VERY entertaining.

Re: Head-to-head records against Federer, Nadal and Djokovic

Same with Söderling. Slams & Masters playoffs. Both of them racked up losses before they were really elite players so that's skews the %. In Söderling's case both Federer and Rafa were in their...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 28

It's the other way around. Mikael has touch and sneaky counter-attacks. Zverev has the power and good ability to pounce on short balls, plus can follow it up with net play. Though both play pretty...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 25

Nadal will beat Schwartman but it won't be because he moves better or has the better shots, and that's pretty sad.

Re: 10 retirements in R1 at USO so far

About half of them came only for the "free" money. Notice how retirements never come from the leading players? Bit too much of a coincidence for the losing player to always be the one getting cramps,...

Re: Less wind even with unfinished Ashe roof?

I hope it's true, wind has "destroyed" many good AA matchups in recent years imo.

Re: Ymer Brothers

Chance for Elias to make his 'grand slam' now and qualify into every GS this season. Plays Montanes in the final.

I just wish he could play on this level more often during the regular tournaments...

6-2, 6-1 vs. Satral. Looks like Struff next.

Re: Qualifying Draw

I would say he's a pretty good baseliner normally, and not an overly aggressive one. But he's quite obviously a clay courter.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 23

Serena isn't playing in the night, Halep is. I think they're just trying to milk out as much cash as possible.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 23

I don't complain from a European perspective, but why on earth does this match start before noon..

Re: Cincy R3: [5] Wawrinka def. Karlovic, 6-7(2) 7-6(5) 7-6(5)

Second serve is far from weak, actually having to play for the point costs him though.. And it's inevitable, at some point the ball will bounce more than five times over the net no matter who you...

Re: Cecchinato's way of making the top 100

Top100 isn't that big of a deal, sure it gets you slam MDs but barely any ATP tournament direct entries. So what are his choices? ATP qualies? This is normal.

The troublesome part is when guys...

Re: Kokkinakis and Harrison nearly come to blows, have to be separated by Lahyani

Tough being an umpire these days, not only to you have to rule the match, you also have to raise the players.

Re: Ymer Brothers

Mikael destoyed his opponent(Zapata Miralles) in the final, winning 6-3, 6-2. Zapata Miralles won a future last week, so just another really good win. Mikael looks ready to take on the men and start...

Re: Ymer Brothers

Some tougher weeks for Elias lately. Now to get ready for hardcourt season and USO qualies.

Mikael keeps going though, he's in the the European junior final in the U18 age group. Looking forward...

Re: Ymer Brothers

Mikael has advanced to the QF in the Junior Wimbledon. He's beaten three top30 players en route, topped by beating 6 seed Barrios Vera in R3. He's the 12 seed himself.

Re: "Generation useless" (89-92) - Relevant results in Slams

Peak years? It's 2015 mate, 94 born guys will be at their best in about five years. Only the ones born 89/90 should be approaching their peak. How old were Wawrinka and Cilic when they won? 20 year...

Re: Wimbledon R1: Karlovic def. Ymer 6-7(2) 6-2 6-4 7-6(2)

Ymer's first set tiebreak was his high point, he would've needed that level some more to win. I didn't expect him to do anything in the grass season so this was a bonus. Serve games need improvement...

Re: Wimbledon qualifying - Round 3

Correct. Ymer had two breaks in the first set, and then one break each in the 2nd and 3rd.

Pella wins 3rd after all the master jinxes going on.
