Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 4

Haha well at least the umps are updating the score on time:wink2:

But for all involved, I seriously hope Kicker is fixing because if you are a top 200 ranked player and simply miss the ball on a...

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 4

For anybody interested, Kicker is at it again...was up a set and a break, Gianessi's odds were 10-1 and then he stopped playing. Literally whiffed a FH and the ball went by him.

Just about even...

Re: Chung/Coric/Fritz/Zverev, who's the most promising?

I think Zverev and Fritz will definitely be consistent top 20 players within the next 2 years and top 10 after that. Already beating top 20/50 players in their teens, plus they still have to grow...

Re: WWW??? Rotterdam Quarterfinal: [WC] Alexander Zverev vs. [5] Gael Monfils

If he had some rest, I would say Zverev because he is playing very well at the moment. But considering that this will be another grindfest trying to hit winners past Monfils and he just played over 3...

The tournament director should come and remove the umpire. That overrule was ridiculously bad.

Zverev playing so well, no need for such a negative attitude! Never seen a guy smash a racquet on serve in the first set

Zverev watches his shots way too much. In the juniors and futures/challengers they are probably beautiful winners, but on the ATP tour those are going to come back a lot more

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 4

Pretty dirty trick by Vesely there...ball close to the line, looks like he's stopping the point, then as soon as RBA stops running he slaps a winner

Re: Is Rotterdam the weakest tier II ever?

Federer dropped out after his injury and Gasquet dropped out after Montpellier, so there were supposed to be 2 top 10s there. I'm surprised Tsonga played in Argentina rather than an indoor 500...

Re: Argentina Open R1: Delbonis def. Fognini 6-7, 6-4, 6-4

I jumped on the Delbonis wagon after the 2nd set. Fog took an MTO and it looked like he had a blister or something on his hand. He just generally looked like he wasn't too interested, even though he...

Re: Guardian - Tennis Umpires Secretly Banned in Gambling Scam

If the criminal bettors are making money this way, then they have no reason to approach players to throw matches. Only losers here is Bet365, but for every $1 they lose because of a scam like this,...

Re: Guardian - Tennis Umpires Secretly Banned in Gambling Scam

Won't make a difference, as it just encourages underground, unregulated betting anyways. Sports Gambling is illegal almost everywhere in the US, so people just use bookies.

i just think it's wrong...

Re: Guardian - Tennis Umpires Secretly Banned in Gambling Scam

This is not technically "Corruption in Tennis" as it has nothing to do with compromising the integrity of the game. The only organization that is affected are the bookmakers, as they are losing money...

Rotterdam R1: Baghdatis def. [4] Goffin 6-1 5-7 7-6(5)

Goffin had *5-2 in the TB and lost the final 5 points, including a great 40+ shot rally on MP in which Marcos played some great defence to finally force a UE.

Crazy match, not the highest quality...

Re: Launceston Final: Blake Mott def. Golubev 6-7(4) 6-1 6-2

Big win for Mott, didn't realize he was still a teenager because he's been a pro for like 4 years already.

Golubev typical sketch-out once the in play odds made his opponent a large underdog...

Re: Montpellier SF: (1) Gasquet def. (Q) Brown 1-6 6-4 6-3

Re: Montpellier SF: (1) Gasquet def. (Q) Brown 1-6 6-4 6-3

The first 10 games of the match were incredible by Brown, but then his momentum ran out and it was all academic from there. Hit Gasquet at a tidy 4.5 after he broke back, so I'm not complaining.

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 3

I would love to see this version of Brown against Murray or Djokovic...would be awesome to see the incredible offence vs the top returners/defenders
