Re: Is Fed actually helping Nadal toward 16 slams by staying around?

Well, Nadal has made 7 of the last 8 slam finals (and won 4 of those). He seems to be getting more consistent with age. The only slam final he didn't make was AO 2010 which had that terribly unlucky...

Re: Is Fed actually helping Nadal toward 16 slams by staying around?

Why are people criticizing the OP?

The OP is stating a fact. The longer Federer plays the more slams Nadal wins. This is not to say Nadal can't beat Djokovic. But obviously Nadal will almost...

Re: Kooyong: Tsonga def. Soderling 7-6 6-1

Tsonga has a defeatest attitude against big servers, but Soderling didn't serve like a big server and hasn't lately.

Re: The "I was wrong about..." player amnesty thread

I thought Federer would win 20-25 slams and now it appears he will probably not!

Re: AAMI Tsonga defeated Solderling 7-6,6-1

Soderling is a non-factor in 2010!

Re: When Federer won his first slam in 2003, did people think he would win any more?

Yes I thought he would win 20-25 slams and therefore I consider his career a major underachievement unless he can win a few more!

Re: How well will Rafael Nadal do at the 2010 Australian Open?

Rafito doesn't have problems in slams (apart from the RG tendinitis 09) until the semis at the earliest, even at US Open this is true, and in AO 2009 he didnt drop a set until semis...

Re: Is this Australian Open the most talented slam of the 21st century?

I've seen a lot of 'open' slams with poor talent pools. This has more players in or around their prime than any slam for at least 10 years....

Re: Does Nadal need a match against Federer?

Rafito just has to win the 1st set of each of his 7 AO matches and he will win the AO. Just look at his record after winning the 1st set!

Re: Is this Australian Open the most talented slam of the 21st century?

No because 'most open' would be like Nalbandian/Hewitt Wimbledon, which was the weakest Wimbledon of all-time whereby Hewitt was not a lock and anyone who got hot for 2 weeks had a chance (because...

Re: Is this Australian Open the most talented slam of the 21st century?

I never felt Nalby was the real deal, even at his best I didn't believe he'd ever win a slam (and thought the Wimbledon he made final of was the weakest draw (on both sides, Hewitt too) I've ever...

Exclamation Is this Australian Open the most talented slam of the 21st century?

Soderling, Del Potro and Davey are at their best (so far), Roddick and Djokovic are arguably at their best, Federer and Rafito are not but that helps level the playing field, Murray is strange, but...

Re: How do you first take in an important draw?

Look at if Rafito's name is there and see which seeds he will meet at QF and SF!

Re: How well will Rafael Nadal do at the 2010 Australian Open?

But Rafito played a 4hr 40min semi v Verdasco last year and played relatively poorly v Federer and still won the Final...

Exclamation Re: How well will Rafael Nadal do at the 2010 Australian Open?

I think Rafito has a better chance now of winning the Australian Open than if he won Doha. The absence of a title for this long will increase his desperation level (to the point where an Australian...

Re: Australian Open: Upset

There are some players more likely to hit a barrage of unforced errors than others, and not saying a high probability of unforced errors leads to a more likely upset (there are other factors) but...

Re: Topspin ≠ Defensive Rafa

Rafito was standing ON the baseline throughout the 6-0 davey set, then after that he reverted back to way behind baseline, so his new aggressive tactics are working, but it isn't his instinct yet,...

Re: My dream AO QF matchups...

Easiest opponents for Rafito would probably be: Gulbis, Roddick, Verdasco, Murray, in that order :)!!

Re: My dream AO QF matchups...

Rafito has big matchup edges over Roddick tactically and he's a lot better mentally, and even beat him at Queens, that would be his easiest Qf opponent :)!!
