Re: Next player to win 10+ GS

Because there were 3 players that won 10 slams in a short period of time it may give the impression that this is somehow normal, but before Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, only Borg and Sampras won 10+...

Madrid 1R: Del Potro beats Thiem 7-6(5) 6-3

Best match from Del Potro since his return. BH still a huge liability, but great serving and clutchness, saving all 7bps (3 of them sps).

Re: Transition strategies: Challengers or quallies?

When comparing when earlier greats, you have to keep into account that there are far fewer challengers nowadays. For a future top star this may not be as relevant as for a journeyman who spends his...

Re: Wimbledon 2015 is the most open slam in years

Typical MTF overreaction. Nole is the biggest favorite by far, Murray has a decent chance, a few other players could do it if they have the best two weeks of their life but it's not very likely.

Re: Djokovic is @1.30 to beat Nadal on Wednesday

Sounds about right to me. People make too much of the history of Nadal at RG. This is being played in June 2015, Djokovic is the vastly superior player. He might get nervous and perhaps lose a set...

Re: Leo Mayer has saved (at least) 26 consecutive bps!

Even for Isner or Raonic, who save around 70% of bps, the probability of saving 26 in a row is only 0,001% (this calculation assumes that saving each bp is an independent event, which is clearly not....

Leo Mayer has saved (at least) 26 consecutive bps!

Is this some sort of record? certainly for one tournament? In Nice he's saved 2/2 bps against Pouille, 6/6 against Mónaco, 11/11 against Coric, and (so far) 7/7 against Thiem.

This coming from a...
