Re: US Open 2013

The matches being only 3 sets sucks. Bryans do better in 5 setters. Even if they do take forever.

Re: Srdjan: "Nole will be in the UN"; "he'll be engaged in global unity and prosperit

For argument's sake, if that's true, he should stay far away from anything to do with the UN.

Re: Is Bob Bryan seriously injured?

Oh ok, that makes sense then. It seems kind of ridiculous that players make commitments so early in the season then.

Re: Is Bob Bryan seriously injured?

Actually, they turned 35 in April.

And I get that they only really care about the U.S. Open, but I just don't get why they (and others) have to claim injury to get out of tournaments when they are...

Re: Is Bob Bryan seriously injured?

So why didn't they just say that instead of claiming a shoulder injury?

Are they obligated to play in the events that they had scheduled and have to say it's because of an injury to pull out?

Re: Is Bob Bryan seriously injured?

They might just be worried about playing too much before the Open and using this as an excuse since they were scheduled for the events months ago (they were supposed to play Barcelona and pulled out...

Is Bob Bryan seriously injured?

I could understand why they pulled out of Atlanta. Four straight weeks of play seemed too much, but to pull out of Washington too?

Despite the fact that they are aiming for a historic achievement,...

Re: Wimbledon F: Bryans win NCYGS, def. Dodig/Melo 3-6 6-3 6-4 6-4

So never in the Open era then. What about individual players? Has any player won the CYGS with different partners?

Re: Wimbledon F: Bryans win NCYGS, def. Dodig/Melo 3-6 6-3 6-4 6-4

Agreed. People keep talking about how it's a weak era, but compared to when?

It's just a shame that so many of the other top doubles players can't get along and play together. The Indians for the...

Re: Wimbledon F: Bryans win NCYGS, def. Dodig/Melo 3-6 6-3 6-4 6-4

Great win. Although, once again, they still play as tight as ever in the big situations. 10+ years after winning the French.

Has any team ever won the CYGS in men's doubles? I'm surprised they...

Re: bryan throws his racket to win a point

It wasn't a crucial point and they lost that set. And it's not on players to make calls on themselves. It's only when they lie about it afterwards that it makes them look bad, ala your all-time...

Re: bryan throws his racket to win a point

Actually, you have to be holding the racket for it to count. Which is understandable, since they don't want players regularly throwing their racket at the ball. The umpire got it wrong. Although,...

Re: Wimbledon 2013

I don't think it's nearly as much of a lock as some. The Bryans have a history of losing to the surprise contenders at Wimbledon. For all the titles they have won, they are really underachievers....

Re: Wimbledon 2013

Why are the Indian players always feuding and playing with other people? I never understood that. I guess they are supposed to be big-time divas'. One would think it would be better for them to play...

Re: Grass season 2013, pre-Wimbledon

They've still lost to crap teams in finals and in Davis Cup.

Re: RG Final: Bryans[1] def. Llodra/Mahut 6-4 4-6 7-6(4)

Actually, Bob was always considered to be the slightly better brother back in the 2000's. But maybe that's changed now. I don't notice any real difference.

Re: RG Final: Bryans[1] def. Llodra/Mahut 6-4 4-6 7-6(4)

This is the kind of GS final the Bryans usually lose. Frenchmen played extremely well.

Re: Middle East call for freedom/ Various Israel topics

Re: booze thread

It's the truth. Beer tastes like piss. Unless you go to a store that carries foreign beer and/or have them do specialty orders or order online. And most foreign beer is shit too.

Michelob is what I...

Re: USA politics thread.

Why would anyone want to do business in a state that elects someone like Jerry Brown to public office?
