Re: Wawrinka is most exciting Tennis player to watch.

Never been on this thread before .... but have always, always admired that fabulous Stan backhand. And did I have 'the feeling' today? Most definitely. If Stan played as he did against my fav,...

Re: RG 15 - Un pour tous, tous pour un -- QF: Loses vs Wawrinka 46 36 67

And so say I, Doris. The result of this match to me depended how Stan came out to play. Unfortunately, he came out all guns blazing and unless his level dropped in the 2nd set, the end result...

Re: RG 15 - Un pour tous, tous pour un -- Beats Dzumhur 64 63 62. R4 vs Monfils

I was cooking dinner while this match was going on ... glad really that I didn't have to sit stuck in front of the Tv as I never saw this match as a 'given'. Have thought from the get-go of the FO...

Re: No more RF matches against Monfils please

Not the result I was hoping for but this will save me having to bother to watch anymore of MC and that awful red dirt. I'd be quite happy if Roger never played another claycourt match. ...

Re: Indian Wells 2015 Championships - Roger going for #5

:wavey:

Think the timing will be ok for me - though wish the opponent had been anyone but Raonic because I don't enjoy watching him. Like you I wanted to see the 'brimming with confidence' Federer...

Re: Indian Wells 2015 Championships - Roger going for #5

What a dummy I am ... I missed this match ... thinking it wasn't starting until 11pm UK time  Will just have to watch this on TTV's catch-up service. For some reason, don't know why, I...

Re: Roger news and articles

Thanks Doris for that article (and for your kind words in yr pm). It has long been my dearest wish for Roger to stand alone with 8 Wimbledon titles so no surprise that it's his too - to stand in...

Re: ~*~*~*~ Australian Open 2015 Thread - Italian Job #2 vs Seppi 3R ~*~*~*~

I'm over it ... and wish the same for everyone else. In fact, I was over it the minute after my OH told me this morning 'bad news from the AO'. My main reaction was surprise, that's all.

No doubt...

Re: ~*~*~*~ Australian Open 2015 Thread - Italian Job #2 vs Seppi 3R ~*~*~*~

S**t happens ... even to Roger Federer - that's how I look at it. I've only seen edited highlights and was taken aback at some of the shots from Seppi that he 'let go'.

If he felt 'something'...

Re: +++++Davis Cup F: Sui vs. Fra #SupporttheSwiss +++++

Oh well.... match exactly as I expected ... nothing else to say. I watched that match with GM today, thinking only of how much more damage Roger might be doing to that back of his and what impact...

Re: London calling! ATP World Tour Finals 2014 - Rog withdraws from final :-( DC next

We rushed home from visiting my mother in her care home just in time to see/hear the news on the BBC that we wouldn't be seeing the final we thought we were going to see. I knew immediately that...

Re: London calling! ATP World Tour Finals 2014 - Roger tops his group, peRFect 3-0

I almost felt sorry for Muzza ... (note I said almost :D). I was sitting amongst quite a few Muzza fans, many of whom had their head in their hands. I tried to be polite and not over-celebrate...

Re: 2014 Paris Masters 1000

Haven't been around here much this year but still watching our man as much as ever. Though have to admit I ducked out of most of the recent match against Karlovic and most of today's match against...

Re: *~*~*SIXcinnati: 2014 CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*~*~*~

Am not around here much these days but you can bet that I'm watching/following Roger's progress as much as I ever did - even if I only manage to watch the matches later and not live.

Am so happy...

:wavey:

I'll be watching - while we have dinner - hope I don't choke on it

If Roger wins, we'll open another bottle of wine to celebrate.

Re: Wimbledon 2014 Tournament Discussion Thread

You summed it up perfectly Sophocles. Thank you. I'd always picked Djokovic to win Wimbledon this year and that Nadal would be out before the s/f which made me believe/hope Roger would get to the...

Re: Wimbledon 2014 Tournament Discussion Thread

Thanks for putting up the interview, Doris. Makes me feel even better .... as after he lost the 2008 final, he looked like he was at a funeral. I just don't share the doom + gloom of some folk...

Re: Wimbledon 2014 Tournament Discussion Thread

Roger Federer is almost 33 years of age and still giving it all he's got on a tennis court against a player who, strictly speaking, is a tennis generation younger than him and also happens to be the...

Re: Wimbledon 2014 Tournament Discussion Thread

Agreed Alypen ... I can't fathom the scheduling this year either. Seems very unfair to me. A bit tough on an almost 33 year old if he has to play 3 days in succession - don't care who that player...

Re: The "RF" chat thread

Does winning the most slams = who is the BEST player? I've never thought it did. So I will argue to the cows come home, I'm blue in the face that Roger Federer is the best exponent of the modern...
