Re: Shanghai R2: (2) Murray through to R3 as Tursunov withdraws

So theoretically, if Murray now pulled out overnight, would a LL still be able to take his place since he hasn't taken to the court yet?

Re: #1 seed Lucky Loser

I know that all the GB Futures have the FQR on Monday, then the main draw comes out on Monday night and they play the whole of R1 on Tuesday. A few of the GB guys who are too good for Futures but...

Re: Slam Winners 2012

I think you'd be surprised at how popular Federer is here, I was at the Fed-Murray round robin match at the WTF last year and the crowd was pretty much 50-50. More would be on Murray's side in the...

Re: Week 37 : Tulsa (Entry List)

Is this the worst Challenger lineup of the year? I've never heard of about 1/4 of the players...

Re: A Pattern Emerging With Lower Ranked Players Lately

I think it's partly a function of the lack of young players breaking into the top 50/top 100 in the last 2-3 years: when a player declines and drops out of the top 10, top 20 or whatever, instead of...

Re: Would you rather win 2 slams and never be no 1 or 1 slam and attain the no 1 rank

The interesting thing about this question is that if you subtract one slam from each option, i.e. 1 slam and never number 1 vs no slams and reaching number 1, probably 95%+ would vote for the former....

Re: WWW: Cincinnati R3 Gasquet vs Fish

For what it's worth, a win for Fish here secures the US Open Series. If he loses, Djokovic can still overtake him by winning the title (they'd be tied on 200 points and Djokovic holds the...

Re: Roger thinks he can still win a CYGS.

Because the banks were dealing with highly leveraged risky mortgage-backed securities, while the average wealthy individual investor will have an unleveraged, balanced portfolio which will at worst...

Re: Week 31: Vancouver (Entry List)

Should be top 150 for Ward for the first time in his career, good work! I can't see him ever being consistently top 100, but I'm sure it must be a goal of his to get there at some point. Top 108...

Re: Week 31: Vancouver (Entry List)

Boggo tried hard to pull off an incredible choke after leading 5-0, then getting broken from 5-1 **40-0, but wins 6-4 3-6 6-3!

Båstad R16: AHM def Volandri 6-3 7-6(7)

Match finished at about 00:40 local time, must be one of the latest ever finishes for an outdoor clay event?

Meanwhile Almagro is yet to play in this tournament and it's now Friday, but good work...

Re: Which Rof16 match are you looking forward to the most?

I think they're all incredibly interesting apart from Federer-Youzhny which I expect to be a routine straight sets win for Federer. Voted for Kubot-Lopez though because that will be a classic...

Re: Wimbledon R2: [Q] Tomic def. Andreev 4-6 5-7 6-3 6-4 6-1

The most shocking thing about this for Australian tennis is not that Tomic is now their number 1, but that if he had lost this match the number 1 Australian would have been Matosevic, which would...

Re: Players That Would Have A Lot More Success With A Higher First Serve Percentage..

The answer to this question isn't someone like Roddick or Isner, those guys tend to have high 1st serve% as it is so there isn't much to be gained there. The guy who really stands out to me is...

Re: 2011 Wimbledon Livescoring / Commentary Thread

Pretty crazy that Harrison almost lost in QR1 to world number 487, Alex Ward, yet is now giving a really tough match to Ferrer!

Re: Wimbledon R2: Malisse def. [20] Mayer 1-6 6-3 6-2 6-2

It's not inconceivable that Malisse could reach the QF here, he'd arguably be favourite vs Melzer, then his possible R16 opponents are an out-of-form Soderling, a Hewitt who would likely be...

Re: Wimbledon Schedule and General Moaning Thread

The chance of rain at this time was around 50/50 according to forecasts, seems perfectly sensible to just close the roof and not have a potential 40-minute delay for closing the roof and getting the...
