Re: Juan Carlos in Big Apple 2011

JCF you animal.

Very entertaining match even if it wasn't the best of quality at times, but the drama, long rallies and terrific shotmaking more than made up for it.
I didn't expect JC to come...

Re: Auf gehts Juan Carlos in Stuttgart!

What an awesome comeback week for JCF, winning the title in style :)
He did it at Casablanca in '09 and again last year at Buenos Aires (although that was a short layoff).
We know he's got tons of...

Re: *Active players with `10+ titles`## Murray to surpass Djoko?

This thread needs a bit of an update. Djoko on current form will overtake Roddick and Hewitt for third by the end of the year. JCF having a late career spurt, winning 5 of his last 7 finals, after a...

Re: What would you like to see JCF accomplish before the end of his tennis career?

500 wins, a few more titles, a deep run at a slam (preferably RG), and a good run at Valencia!

Re: ~2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey~

It's a shame we couldn't back up the opening win over Canada, been absolutely demolished in the last 2 matches :o. Qualification looks unlikely with games against Spain and Lithuania next.

Re: Juan Carlos at USO 2010 cheering thread

Well done on an emphatic victory JC :D
Comfortable for his first match back from injury, hope he's feeling fresh and fully fit.

Mello next up in Round 2; JCF beat him twice this season, during that...

Re: Hamburg Here He Comes!

Haha, i was half expecting his knees to blow up on court at some point last season. I'm glad he's taking his scheduling a bit more seriously now though. Should keep him on the tour for another couple...

Re: The 'Oh look he hasn't retired yet because he is playing Umag' Thread

I'm surprised JC ended up playing Umag, what with all the tendinitis issues, but then i remembered... the players' party... pretty sure JC left the novia at home!

Also expected him to tank after...

Re: Hamburg Here He Comes!

JCF is up to 449 after yesterday's victory, Edda. Just another 51 to go!

If he really is planning to play another 2 years, it's a very realistic target. It would be a big achievement to join the...

Re: Hamburg Here He Comes!

Thanks for the comments Bunny! Seems like JCF was playing pretty well.

He's increased his ranking points with this win but i hope he doesn't stop here. Probably be Mayer in the next round based on...

Re: Juan Carlos' Summer Clay Court Campaign Starts in Stuttgart!

Well done JCF. Good win against a tough player. Definitely a much-needed boost for confidence.
Vamos vs Greul!

Re: Juan Carlos Graces Roland Garros With His Presence!

Dammit, was so sure he'd done it after breaking to go 2-1 up in the decider.

Definitely is a confidence issue. You can see it in the way he's playing compared to the SA swing but more importantly,...

Re: Juan Carlos Graces Roland Garros With His Presence!

Come on JCF! Keep fighting and use all your clay court experience to battle through this!
Getting a few flashbacks watching this match:
1) Ginepri destroying JCF in wimby 04 I think
2) RG05?...

Re: Juan Carlos Graces Roland Garros With His Presence!

Nice JCF. Revenge served pretty emphatically today.
Didn't take long for JC to find some form after several weeks of inactivity.
Keep it up v Riba!

Re: Did Moya miss the right time to retire?

I just don't think he expected to be out for so long. He was still playing pretty good tennis before he got injured so why quit at the time? It's really unfortunate the way it's panned out but im...

Re: Rome R3: Nadal def Hanescu 6-3 6-2

Jesus guys. Rome is quicker than MC so guys get rewarded a bit more when they attack Rafa here.
He has less time on the ball and hits shorter as a result. Don't kid yourselves, this would have been 2...

Re: Juan Carlos is in ROMA!

Ouch. As Jimnik mentioned a few pages back, JCF seems to underestimate players he hasn't previously met. Happened with De Bakker last week and once again yesterday. He seems to go out there with the...

Re: Juan Carlos Back on Spanish Soil: Barcelona 2010 Thread

Yet again JCF could potentially play Tsonga/De Bakker in Round 3 of Rome. What's up with these draws?
R1 vs qualifier, R2 vs Andreas Beck/qualifier.

Anyway, imo it was a bad loss against De Bakker,...

Re: Juan Monte-Carlos Back on Euro Clay

I think it's a bit unfair to classify 2009-2010 JC as a player who looks to draw errors from his opponent. There was a time, around 06-08, he was playing pretty passive tennis especially on clay, so...

Re: Juan Monte-Carlos Back on Euro Clay

Didn't see Rafa in the crowd but Uncle Toni was there, no doubt doing some scouting on his nephew's behalf.
Youzhny was another pro enjoying the match also.

Re: Juan Monte-Carlos Back on Euro Clay

Well done JCF! A top 10 win and revenge for Miami

Only saw the first 2 sets, Tsonga was terrible in the 1st and it was pretty smooth stuff until JC lost focus with that call at *1-2 and got broken....

Re: SONY ERICSSON OPEN 2010: Juan Carlos does Miami!

Pretty expected imo, had JCF beating Isner but losing to Tsonga in my bracket, since Jo is always likely to overpower our man on hard courts.
Also, he hasn't done well in IW/Miami in the past so...
