Normal day GGL is the better player by quite far. He can throw in some shocking performances though but I think he should get this done in two tight sets or a third set crushing.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 5

Wow Gilles really blew it there. He doesn't really look that fit tbh. Might not be a strategic tank after all.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 5

Gilles in tank-mode. Will show up again in the third set. Will hold now to make sure he serves first.

Odds have dropped from 1.65 to low 1.50's on Monfils. Might be the right time to back Simon. Simon is a bad match up and much more consistent in his play.

Re: Marseille R2: [2] Wawrinka d. [WC] Paire, 6-2 6-3

Paire wants to keep his buddy nearby for another day. Now Wawa has to stay to play Staks tomorrow.

Re: Marseille R1: [6] Goffin def. Janowicz 6-4 6-2

What was that about from JJ? He'll atleast have to make it close with the game he has on these slick courts. I know he had a fever last Sunday but that's like ten days ago.

Re: Rio R1: AHM def Ramos 3-6 6-3 6-2

There was a few good points there. Lots of really bad misses from both guys though. Ramos should really put some variation on his ad-court serve. Always the swinger out ´.

Re: WWW Sao Paolo Sf Giraldo v.s Cuevas?

Probably Cuevas but it should be close. Giraldo has played well this week. Closer than the 1.60 offered on Cuevas and the winner of this match will most likely grab the title.

Re: Sao Paulo R2: Fognini def. Schwartzman 6-3, 1-6, 6-2

We've seen this type of scoreline from the Fog so often it was hardly a surprise to see him completely lose it in the second set only to shape up and roll through the third. Fog must have some kind...

He would have a chance if he tried away from clay. Good ballstriker, good movement, clutch when he cares.

Re: 250 Series ATP Brazilian Open: Santiago Giraldo def Carlos Berlocq 4-6, 7-5, 6-3

Seemed to me Charlie was the better player until 5-5 in the second set. Then his level dropped quite significantly. Giraldo did well to hold 5 straight points from 6-5 0-40 in the second set. In the...

Mentality is the difference. Bird is better now but still looses matches he should win, especially the really important ones. Whereas Raonic seems to win a few he shouldn't. Much prefer watching Bird...

Probably Raonic, but I think we need to draw the line at Berdych. Cilic won't do it again, Tsonga in decline, Ferrer won't beat a big three (four) player in a final.

Re: WWW Chennai Open?

I'll always be nervous with Stan when he's expected to win. He has a shocking amount of short priced losses. Lopez, RBA and Goffin could easily spell trouble if Stan has a slightly off day. But ok,...

Re: Kuala Lumpur SF: (4) Benneteau def. (2) Gulbis 6-4 6-4

Benny is 0-6 v. Nieminen and 1-2 v. Nishikori (only win in 2007 when Nishikori was 18) but it makes for a wonderful piece of logic that Nieminen owns Benneteau who owns Gulbis who owns...

Yes what's going on there? Broken twice in one set by Groth is a disgrace by any standard. From SB it looks better in 2nd but not converting 3 bp so far.

Querrey and Sijsling don't impress. Cipolla and Volandri also have odd looking games.
