Re: Predict Nadal's ATP ranking by the end of Roland Garros

Nadal hasn't been outside the top 5 since he first broke into it on 09/05/2005

For Pipsy, the real question is: will he make it 10 consecutive years inside the top 5?

Re: WWW Miami F: [1]Novak Djokovic vs [3]Andy Murray

Surely Djokovic is the big favourite here, to win in 2 sets most likely. But then, not many people have beaten him as many times as Murray has so it's obviously possible for Andy to win (especially...

Re: Casablanca QR2: Aljaz Bedene MBE def Michael Linzer 6-2 6-0

Trying to remember the last time GB had four men inside the top 150... must be at least 10 years

Casablanca QR2: Aljaz Bedene MBE def Michael Linzer 6-2 6-0

In his first tournament with his new nationality, Aljaz is showing his true top 100 form in dispatching lesser opposition. Seems to be happy with his...

Re: We can have a big4 semi-final

Nalbandian's run at that tournament was extraordinary - he beat Clement, Berdych, del Potro, Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer, all of whom have appeared in slam finals in their careers, with four winning...

Re: Little Stat: Initial GS Final Losing Streaks

Updated to 2015:

I guess thanks to a confidence boost from the Olympics and a windy day at the US Open he was indeed able to break this particular streak leaving Robin Soderling as the active...

Re: We can have a big4 semi-final

I was indeed correct. Interesting stat that one:

In the 40 tournaments that 3 of the Big 4 have made it through to the semi-finals, only once has the non-Big 4 member won the title.

(You might say...

Re: We can have a big4 semi-final

Off the top of my head, once?

Definitely del Potro famously at the 2009 US Open. I'll let others delve into that one haha!

Re: We can have a big4 semi-final

Tournaments where at least 3 of the Big 4 made it to the semi-finals (missing person in parentheses)

Indian Wells, 2007 (Federer)
Roland Garros, 2007 (Murray)
Wimbledon, 2007 (Murray)
Montreal, 2007...

Re: We can have a big4 semi-final

Before this tournament, the Big 4 have surprisingly only been in the semi-finals together 7 times:

US Open, 2008
Cincinnati, 2009
Toronto, 2010
World Tour Finals, 2010
Roland Garros, 2011
US Open,...

Re: Indian Wells R4: (4)Andy Murray def. Adrian Mannarino 6-3 6-3

71-14 at main tour level for Murray against French. Looking forward to the Davis Cup.

Re: CH Irving R1: (Q) Edmund def Kamke 6-4 6-4

A good win for the young Brit. Clearly the Miami wildcard committee see something in him and he's starting to really break through in the men's game after a promising juniors career. It is quite...

Re: Dubai QF: Coric def. [3] Murray 6-1 6-3

This is a dark day indeed for Murray fans.

(I take solace from the fact that Murray hit 55 unforced errors as it suggests that he was entirely at fault for this performance. If he were playing well...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 5

Weak second serves, but it was still amazing. But then in the next game he misses a couple of easy put-aways!

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 5

Brown is such a frustrating player to watch. Amazing winners from difficult positions followed by tame netter unforced errors.
