Re: Wtaw (Gen. WTA Discussion) [Volume III]

Yes. Halep has not net game, no variety at all. She's just good at hitting a forehand and backhand and running. That's it. It's no wonder she's been struggling so mightily once everyone figured...

Re: Monte Carlo round 2: Vesely beats [1]Djokovic 6-4 2-6 6-4

Unfortunately his hometown crowd couldn't buoy him to victory. Oh wait :bigwave:

Re: Wtaw (Gen. WTA Discussion) [Volume III]

I don't understand how any fan of the game can believe that Azarenka's game is "basic." It's quite the opposite, in fact. Her game is subtle, not int he way of a Radwanska or Hingis, but she is...

Re: Djokovic pulled a Tsonga in the press conference when asked about equal prize mon

Things like these go in cycles. Remember the late 90's and early 2000's when the WTA was the main draw at tournaments? Yet the women were not earning more, but LESS, than their male counterparts.

Re: Gero Kretschmer claims he did not receive prize money for winning 125k Challenger

And then you wonder why match-fixing is apparently so rampant in today's sport

Re: Sad times. Nadal looks really done.

It's quite surreal to witness his precipitous decline. Even in 2009, 2012, when injuries plagued him, he would come back the next year with the same old intensity and return to consistently great...

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

The thing that's depressing is the lingering doubt. Every upset will now be scrutinized, every change in odds will be looked upon suspiciously.

Azarenka was listed in that black list, and I don't...

Re: AO R1: Fernando Verdasco def. (5) Rafael Nadal 7-6(6) 4-6 3-6 7-6(4) 6-2

Well obviously there was an element of surprise as it was an upset, but there is no immediate jaw-drop or "Oh my god" that one would think a loss like this would bring about, as it did for me when...

Re: AO R1: Fernando Verdasco def. (5) Rafael Nadal 7-6(6) 4-6 3-6 7-6(4) 6-2

I have a tremendous dislike for Rafa, but it is sad to say that this loss is not a shock.

Still don't understand how his ranking is so high.

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

Honestly shocked to see Vika on the "list." Where did that newspaper get its information from?

Why would Vika want to match fix when by then she was already a top player? Plus, she never had any...

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

I must have misread the article when I said the USO winner won it in the last 10 years. I guess the two most suspicious to me are the recent one who has had trouble with other anti-etc. agencies...

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

Exactly, it's disgusting!

And for those of you saying the USO winner is a female, I find that extremely unlikely. As much as I dislike Serena, she is an obvious no. Same for Clijsters, Stosur,...

Re: Wtaw (Gen. WTA Discussion) [Volume II]

Am I the only one who doesn't understand all the experts picking Azarenka to win the whole thing? I'm especially nervous about Muguruza :scared:

Re: BBC: Evidence suggests match fixing rife in Tennis

If the US Open winner has won it in the past decade, it rules out Safin.
I think it's becoming painfully obvious who it is :) Suspected it all along, in addition to other physical "enhancements" :)

Re: Lana Del Rey fans in MTF

I think Ultraviolence is better than Honeymoon, but both are great. My favorite tracks off of Honeymoon are the title track, The Blackest Day, 24, and Religion.

Re: Wtaw (Gen. WTA Discussion) [Volume II]

Both are nice ladies, but are so out of form and will be this year's Bouchards. Case in point: Pennetta vs. Halep
