Nach der verletzungsbedingten Absage von Nicolas Kiefer findet die inoffizielle Mixed-WM aber ohne deutsche Beteiligung statt. Kiefer bangt ein Jahr nach seinem Halbfinal-Einzug bei den Australian Open wegen seiner hartnäckigen Handgelenks-Blessur um die Teilnahme in Melbourne und will voraussichtlich in der ersten Januar-Woche darüber entscheiden. Die übrigen deutschen Spitzenspieler bereiten sich derweil quer über den Globus verstreut auf das erste Grand-Slam-Turnier des Jahres vor, das am 15. Januar beginnt.

For all English fans: The article says that Kiwi is going to decide next week if he will go to Melbourne or not.

I wish he was feeling more optimistic... I don't want him to re-injure anything, but it would be nice to see him back in action for the AO this year!

no we know that Kiwi won't play... if he stays in Germany, the solarium (do you call it like that in English? where you go for artificial sunlight?) has to ripen the Kiwi now :p

shocking yes, but not unexpected :eek: I think JMG estimated it a few weeks ago and I read it and was warned that this drop will be that huge!

But we know that Kiwi is much greater than this number :angel: :)

:( I was wondering how'd far it drop after the AO since he did so well last year. The good thing is he doesm'y have anything to defend once after the French Open :) Kiwi:sad:
