Making strings last longer

I seem to be popping many strings lately, would it help if I put natural gut strings in the mains and synthetic gut string in the crosses? Or simply just all natural gut strings?

Natural gut are the best strings, but if you want them to last long I wouldn't recommend them.

I'd go for polyester strings if you want it solely for durability purposes. Unfortunately this compromises the playability.

I've been playing with Prince Synthetic, what kind of string would you suggest?

Synthetic gut are kind of average in both departments, playability and durability.

The thing is, the better the durability, the worse the playability, and vice versa.

So it depends what you're looking for.....if you want strings which will last long, go for polyester strings. If you want the best strings, go for natural gut.
