~Grass Season~
 

It's time for the short period of grass court tennis again. Jarkko will play two tourneys, Halle and Wimbledon. The expectations aren't too high for Jarkko, as his form is a little bit questionable (especially on grass) at the moment. The draw in Halle isn't too difficult and a couple of wins there would do good for Jarkko's confidence.

I think this could become Jarkko's best grass court season so far. The way he's been hitting the ball has been very good all year and his serve has improved. Jarkko's problems have been on the physical side, which is not as big a factor on grass. On grass, Jarkko can swing freely, and with his quickness around the court he's a very dangerous opponent.

and he has his hair cut - a bit shorter now :p

I just watched Jarkko's match and I really like the way he served today :D He wasn't maybe quite comfortable with the surface yet, but this was a good start :yeah:

Good work today, Jarkko! With a good play in the next matches there is a semifinal spot on grass. And that would be quite a good performance and Jarkko could then surely look forward to Wimbledon. :)

Jarkko made some lousy errors from time to time
definitely had his chances to win this match
I hope he keeps staying in Halle for some days now to practice on grass

Jarkko will play two exhibition singles matches against Nadal and Philippoussis at this week's Marsh Classic at the Hurlingham Club in London. :cool:

It's good to play two totally different players. You never know if you're gonna face a booming serve or a clay court grinder in the 1st round of Wimby. ;)
