Next Top Ten player...

Which player is most likely to break into top ten next?

If Kei wins vs Gasquet he is in top 10.

Haas Nishikori

# 10 Wawrinka is almost 500 points ahead of Nishikori, Haas & Co.

But it looks interesting. There are many players who can break into the top ten for the very first time by the end of the year...

Still I think that Haas will be first. He's got to defend his quarterfinal points at the Canadian-Open but that's pretty much it. No points at US-Open etc. Good chance for Haas! And he is defenitly in a good form.

So is Fognini but the clay court season is over ;)

I don't think Cilic should be in the poll. :p

Sure?

Still - not very likely since he played so poor in Washington last week!

Gasquet is losing 600 points from last year's Rogers Cup's so Kei has great chance.

Maybe he tanked IDK or 2 games in 1 day was too much for him. Because my friend said that he hasn't seen Kei playing so poor like he played vs Baggy.

We'll see today. He is playing on CC vs Polansky. Last Match.

You might be right about this ;)

He's also got to defend a lot of points: Quarterfinal US Open, Cincinatti and 2 more!

Btw: Almagro doesn't have to defend any points until the US Open! So, he's in the race for sure..

Simon has to defend his Bangkok final and Paris SF though he lost in the 1st round in his last 2 tournaments..

Want: Haas, of course.
Think: Hmmm...
Warwinka needs to defend a total of 810 points.
Haas needs to defend a total of 460 points.
Under The Radar Nishikori needs to defend a whopping total of 915 points.

I think Haas could be a new Top 10er of the year (if he follows his seed in US Open he would at least gain 170 points, more than a third of points needed to defend).

I wouldn't really class it as a breakthrough, given that he's been there before, but I'd expect Haas to have the greatest chance of a return to the top ten.

I don't see the likes of Raonic or Nishikori threatening on current form and if I was to go for another I'd probably go for an outside bet on Janowicz. He has a tiny 29 points to defend over the course of Montreal, Cincinnati, Winston Salem and the US Open. So a couple of strong showings and it's theoretically possible.

If he does though, I hope that he would repeat his good form in Paris, cause he has a LOT of points there.
