I thought it would be nice to create a new thread during the Off season, because it didnīt happen so much in this Pim Pim forum the last days.
It would be nice to get to know everyone here even better and to get to know your hometowns, favourite holiday places or other places you like ;)

I will start with some nice winter pics of my hometown Hamburg. Normally we donīt have much snow here, but the pics are from last year and there we had some great days with so much snow, it was unbelievable! The "sea" you see on the pics is called "Alster" and it is situated in the middle of the city. It is very lovely and especially now around christmas when there are lights everywhere...

Sommarsverige, I visited your hometown this summer. Hamburg is such a beautiful city. Maybe I also went to the places where your photos are taken.

The first photo is the Temple of Heaven, one my fav places in my hometown,Beijing. The #2 is a bar by a lake in the downdown, also my fav place, I love to hang out with my friends there. the only problem is that they charge too much(e.g. 5 Euro for a can of Coke).
#3 is Roma, I love it. :worship:

JMG, donīt be confused
Unfortunately I live in Hamburg, but I would love to live in Sweden :hearts:
This has been my dream for so many years and the same as you, I also think I am born in the wrong country ;)

Pina, yeah, Hamburg is a very beautiful city.
Have you been on a holiday trip to Europe, or? Which other countries have you been to?

By the way, I found a flag of the favourite country from all of us here;)

Sommarsverige, I went to Europe in my summer vacation this year. I visited Germany, France and Italy. I had great time in those countries.
Germans are very friendly and many of them speak very good English.:worship:

There are many ways to save money. In Europe, if you are under 25 years old and a student, you will get discount in almost everything---train tickets and museum tickets for instance. If you are an architecture student, you don't have to pay anything in any non-private museums and galaries in France.
There will be some promotion price, e.g. a train ticket from Paris to Berlin would be 25 euro if you book it two weeks earlier(sometimes). And don't forget some "cheap" airlines like Rayair. We flew from Roma to Paris for only about 30 euros. Anyway, you'd better plan your trip earlier and book all the tickets you need earlier online. You'll save a lot of money by doing so.;) oh, one more tip. Renting a car would be a good idea, and so you could live in motels. Motels are much cheaper than hotels in town and cozier than youth hostel.

I have to admit that a trip to Europe is expensive, but it worth the money.:worship:

@Toppu, I'm with you. I love Italy!

If it helps, you can get train tickets for Europe in advance at this site:
www.raileurope.ca

it's in canadian dollars tho...

I absolutely agree with you, Pina! Those cheap airlines are really fantastic. In fact, I didnīt use them so often yet, but itīs great when you want to go to Stockholm (itīs pretty far away from Hamburg by train or car). Usually I had to pay 300-400 € and now with Ryan Air I only pay about 30€. Little difference, I think. The only negative thing with Ryan Air is that they donīt fly from the "big" airports, but from smaller ones which are situated outside the cities and sometimes the flights go at strange times, like very early or very late.
But I am very happy that Ryan Air exists ;)

I was only once in Asia so far, but I liked Bangkok a lot. Here is a pic from that trip.

Re: Post pics of your favourite places or hometown

I guess Ryan Air can't afford major airports. If you take a plane to Paris with Ryan Air, you will find out that you land on someplace 3 hours ride from Paris.

Anyway, travel is a great thing.:bigclap:
