Now in Zagreb
I am sorry to say that Jurgen really let his country down in Davis Cup. He lost both his matches to players ranked far below him. He was expected to win both and since Knowle/Peya won their doubles that would have meant a win for Austria.

Now he is in Zagreb. He will play his first singles tomorrow. He is seeded 4th. In doubles he is back playing with Petzschner and they won their first match today.

Re: Now in Zagreb
Jurgen won his first round singles match. That is more like it.
My computer is giving me fits so if I do not post his results and you know them. Please do it for me. Thanks.

Re: Now in Zagreb
Jurgen has reached the semi-finals by defeating Rosol 6-4, 6-4. Next he will play the winner of his doubles partner Petzschner or Robin Hasse.
He still has to play doubles today.

Jurgen has reached the finals in Zagreb by defeating Robin Hasse 7-6, 6-3.
He will play the winner between Cilic and Youzhny.
Sorry that Jurgen and Petzschner lost in doubles yesterday in a very close match.
Julian Knowle and his partner have reached the finals in the doubles.

Re: Now in Zagreb
This from the ATP
Twenty four hours after he recorded his 300th tour-level match victory, Jurgen Melzer advanced to the PBZ Zagreb Indoors final.

The former World No. 8 will bid to capture his fifth ATP World Tour title (4-7 overall) on Sunday after the fourth-seeded Austrian knocked out Robin Haase of the Netherlands 7-6(2), 6-3 in 83 minutes.

Three of Melzer’s four trophies have come indoors at 2009-Vienna (d. Cilic), 2010-Vienna (d. Haider-Maurer) and 2012 Memphis (d. Raonic).

Re: Now in Zagreb
Jurgen lost to Cilic 1-6, 3-6. It is great that he reached the finals.
I believe his next tournament will be Memphis, USA.
By the way, Julian Knowle and his partner won the doubles.
