Match point was really good. Good effort from both. It wasn't the prettiest at times but both men were battling out there fighting through fatigue issues producing some entertaining rallies. Baghdatis really can't make a run here if he's going to be gassed like that. You could sense he was feeling tired late in the 4th set but regrouped nicely for the 5th.

Yes, Marcos' fitness has slipped. A shame really, given all that talent. He'll have another 1 or 2 of these 5-setters and then give way.

How can anyone say Ramos is weaponless? His forehand is huge, it´s inconsistent, yeah, but deadly at times.

Not a great way to start the tournament, mugging it up with Ramug for 5 sets. I'm glad he won though

Only watched 1st, 4th and final set, one of the best matches I've seen Ramos played.

The Aussie Open doesn't really begin until Baggy and Mugro have got stuck in 5 setters.

this match hurt my eyes. Glad Marcos won it in the end. He really needs to play more agressively or he will exit the tournament prematurely

Ramos is underrated on these boards, he can be a tough one to beat, not as nearly weaponless as most are saying.

This might be the best I've ever seen Ramos play on a hard court.

That said, Baggy is screwed.
