Ross Hutchins diagnosed with cancer
 

The mystery of who Andy Murray was referring to in his Brisbane speech is solved.

Ross Hutchins, ranked 28 in doubles, regular partner to Colin Fleming, and one of Andy's best mates, used his twitter account today to announce he's been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and is undergoing medical treatment.

Best wishes to him in the fight ahead of him.

Having lost a friend to the non-Hodgkin's form, I am hopeful that this is an easier illness to recover from. Best of luck mate.

Fleming/Hutchins have been a really refreshing team in the past couple of years and it would be sad to never see them again.

Correct me if i am wrong, but the Hodgkins Lymphoma is also what WTA player Alisa Kleybanova has been fighting/recovering from yes?

Soon puts tennis in perspective and particularly show that "niggling" injuries that players sometimes count as "misfortunate" because it causes them to miss a few tournaments really aren't that serious at all.

I believe so. Fortunately HL is a very curable illness even in higher stages. Treatments ( doses of chemo,radiation if you need it and at what dose)are very dependent on your stage and the locality of the disease. Good luck to him! Seems to be a good guy ( at least from the ATP video Newport tournament)
