Even Ferrer can't defend a title which was won by Murray. ;)

Why does it matter, he'll still be in.

Great to see Benneteau and Melzer haven't retired.

In 2012, Benneteau had his best end-of-year ranking ever, and Melzer finished in the top-30

Odd not to see Tomic on the list.

ETA: ...because he's playing the Hopman Cup. Of course. D'oh!

yes they made an exchange with Hewitt : last year, Hewitt played the Hopman cup and Sydney, Tomic played Brisbane and Kooyong,
this year it's the opposite

Because if he gets in direct then another aussie can use the wildcard :p

Does anyone know why this is now a 28-draw?
It always used to be a 32-draw.
