CH Geneva QF: Bachinger def. Rochus 7-6(5) 4-6 7-6(3)
Very physical match with a lot of long rallies, especially in the third set. Olli was down a break in the first and third sets, down *2-4 BP in the third set, and came all the way back, but he wore down in the final breaker.
Rochus was the better player overall in rallies but Bachinger had 36 aces, a lot more unreturned serves, and made fewer errors. That's what got him through. Match took 2:39 to complete. Only good thing about this result is this shitty player Bachinger will almost certainly be too fatigued to win tomorrow. |

Rochus is WAY past his prime and Bachinger has always been a challenger-level player, for him a Challenger Semifinal is not bad at all. |

The match was actually more entertaining than most matches at Paris this week. I was expecting Rochus to win and he failed.

Rochus was lucky to escape in the first round. Too bad for him, the draw was open

Bachinger is really on form here.
def. Kamke, Delbo and now Rochus. Matt is fighting for TOP100 at end of the year to play AO '13 without qualys it's so simple. Kamke, Rochus didn't get maybe some skills at end or motivation. |
