D.O.B. 13.10.90. Born in Failsworth, England. Career high 337
Peaked at 29 in juniors with a w/l at singles of 39 - 20 and a doubles w/l of 41-19
First career points hall was 2 in a futures in britain in 2008 , aged 17. Reached his first final in a romanian futures in 2009 on clay. First futures title was later that year in Belgium. His only 15k futures title came in 2009 beating Benoit Paire 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the final in Portugal , Who later went on to break into the worlds top 50. He has also won 4 first round Challenger matches.

2012 has been his most successful year to date winning 10k futures in Israel Beating top 250 ranked Amir Weintraub in the final. also beating Radu Albot in a Futures final in Turkey Albot ranked 257 at the time, and winning a 10k futures in Sweden beating fellow brit Josh Milton 4-6, 6-0 , 6-1 in the final, he has also reached another 2 futures finals in 2012.

I remember having county squads with him and a few others in Bolton - one of the most consistent players I ever played against when I was younger. Didn't hit the biggest shots but made up for it with his court craft which was always high even when we were young.

Just knocked out 5th seed Bobby Reynolds in a Challenger in Champaign, Illinois. In the 1st round . good win !

Great effort in a tiebreak v Ward -Hibbert in Sheffield Futures. I know W- Hibbert is young but Smethurst double faulted twice to give W-Hibbert 3-0 serving in the breaker and then wins the next 7 points to take it 7-3 . won the second 6-1. semi now

Yeah , well last year was a great year for him, hopefully he can keep himself locked in the top 400 and maybe cause a upset or two .
