Has anyone been to the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris Bercy?

I'm thinking of buying tickets for the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris. Not really sure whether it's a good idea yet, but I have to make up my mind, otherwise, there won't be anything left.

I might be in Paris the weekend before, so that's why I was thinking maybe I could stay at a friend's house for a couple of days. That would mean buying tickets for the Monday (or Tuesday but probably not).

Do you know how it works? I mean, obviously, I'd really want to see Ferru, so my question is: if I'm not lucky and he's scheduled on the Tuesday instead, will he still be there practising or something? Or does that mean it's a lottery, and the only way to make sure is to pay for both Monday and Tuesday? (I'm not sure I can afford it)

And, oh by the way, anyone else planning to go? :)

He definately won't play on Monday, since he will have a bye in the first round. I think his first round match will be on Wednesday.

Oh thank you! Do you know if there's a chance he'll be practising though?

He probably will, but I don't know if you can find out when exactly.

I think you can't find out because they don't publish the plannings... But they do say you can access the practice sessions.

The players seeded 1 to 16 are exempted from playing the 1st round, but they are going to play 2nd round matches on the Thursday already, although most of the matches will be held on Wednesday. I don't think there's anything interesting left for Wednesday, but maybe I should try to get a Tuesday ticket...

For sure, I watched him practice in Rotterdam this year. And I didn't expect it at all, so that made it even better!

Djokovic, Murray, Federer and David all played on Wednesday last year, for what it's worth.

Well, I'll take a couple of pics if I can, but I hate behaving like a paparazzi so I probably won't take many.

I know it's ridiculous with people who are used to being photographed all the time, but I always feel very rude taking pictures of people without asking them first. So of course I'm very bad at taking pictures of famous people.

Now I need to decide what to do about my tickets... Wednesday tickets are really more difficult to get, Tuesday tickets might still be possible. Then again I don't want to invade my friends' apartment for too long. I need to find a way to make all this work.

OK, I got me a Wednesday and Thursday pass! I'll try to find a way to stay in Paris for that long, or otherwise I'll just go home and come back for those two days.

I think itīs a very good decision that you took those days! It could be very possible that Ferru is playing on both days, I think!
I never been to Paris Bercy myself, but I have some friends who went there and I think itīs difficult to watch practice (not sure if itīs even possible).
This is one of the reasons why I by far prefer outdoor tournaments, because you can always (almost) watch the practices!

Wishing you lots of fun already :)

On the website they say it's possible to watch the practice sessions, I think. I really hope it is possible, because that's what I really want to see! Of course by now the tickets that are available are the ones that are furthest from the court, so I'm not going to see much during the matches, I hope the practice will be the most interesting! :D
Apparently the only thing that you cannot do is know in advance where the players are practising. You have to go and look for them, and be lucky. I hope at least I'll be lucky on one of those two days. And I hope Ferru does not lose before the 3rd round, that would be a pity!

I hope Ferru will be fit and healthy. Good luck in Paris!

Apparently, you cannot access the practice sessions. The FAQ I had been consulting must have been for the other BNP Paribas Open, the one in Indian Wells. I probably mistook that page for that of the Paris BNP Paribas Masters.
