Will Raonic hit 1000+ aces this season?
 

If he will,he will be just 6th player after Sampras, Ivanisevic, Roddick, Karlovic and Isner.

Milos has 894 aces at this moment before his match in SF Tokyo vs Andy Murray. I expect him to loose to Murray so after Tokyo he can be on 900 for example.

That leave us with him in Shanghai and possibly 3 indoor events in Europe to finish the deal, i think he will play Basel, Paris + possibly 250 before?

yeah why not? He hit 24 aces yesterday. If he hits about 10 against Andy, all he has to do is play 5-6 matches, I can see him do this.

It certainly doesn't happen often - eight times in twenty-one years. Ivanisevic the only one to pull it off more than once.

Yes, in Milos´s case i am confident he will do it in his career, Isner also can do it this season again. Milos would have been much closer if DC matches are counted - for example Ljubicic don´t remember which season, probably when CRO won DC, he had like 950 or something aces + played like 6-7 matches in DC - that means he easily was over 1000 that year, but DC matches didn´t count..

somehow i think he'll end up close but short. somewhere around 980-990.

If he comes to Stockholm Open this year again he can do it! It will be a fast indoor court. Perfect for his serve

If he chooses to not play another 250 he will come up just short I think

Goran really is the greatest server of all time.

Depends how far he goes in each indoor tournament, but I think he'll just about hit 1000 aces. That serve is more than a typical Tennis weapon.

He really needs to stop breaking his opponents so much if he wants these 1000 aces, winning a set 7-6 instead of 6-4 gives you 1 more service games to get aces plus probably 6 or so more service points in the TB

Gifting sets to his opponent like he did against Tipsarevic helps though, gives him another set to get aces

You have point here, i believe Milos will have at least 1 season with 1000+ aces, but in future, when he gets better player - i mean baseline + ROS he may end up having much quicker matches, already there is visible progress comparing to last year, that Milos is now able to win sets with breaks, instead of going to tie-breaks, so in future when he will get better and will play less tie-breaks - less games per set and so on, he may end up short of 1000 - also he may change his serve - instead of going for ace just use it more - Tsonga is having less aces in this season and i think he is going for higher % and set up point instead of huge bomb - ace - service winner
