Tsonga w/o Davydenko round 3 vs Youzhny/Anderson

Davydenko withdrawled from the tournament ... withdrawled from Paris-Bercy too 3 tournaments remain for Kolya Shanghai/Moscow/Basel
it seems this is it ... the end of his streak of 9 consecutive years of winning at least one ATP title ! good streak for a player of his caliber :worship:
Good luck in QFs Stronga !

Why withdraw from Paris?

Is Denko calling it a career?

Re: Tsonga w/o Davydenko round 3 vs Youzhny/Anderson

Cause he was 8th alternative (but he could've entered i was 100% sure) whatever ... Certinfy maybe he's leaving the rackets at a final peace.
So this means that Davy and Ferrero are retiring at the same time (if Kolya retires at all)

no he was only an alternate in Paris (10th one) and withdrawing allows him to count one more optional result in his rankings (35 points).

Besides he's now a father and probably likes to have one more off-season week off.

Oh okay that makes more sense. I thought he was directly in Paris which made me wonder.

yes, 35 points at the moment unless he gets better results in Moscow/Basel.

but is he injured? what does all this points stuff have to do with his withdrawal from China Open?

I know he tweaked his thigh last week, so I guess the pain became too great after the 1r. Kolya really doesn't know how to heal injuries does he. He's been hurting himself in almost every tournament it seems and yet you seem in the draw the following tournament.

it could have to do with a withdrawal from Shanghai (where he doesn't seem to have withdrawn yet), but not with the one from Beijing : clearly he's injured.
