Is It true that the Japanese Federation gives 2000$ per ranking point?

Amir Weintraub said it in an interview a few days ago.

Nishikori currently has 1,195 points which would mean $2,390,000. That surely can't be true?

What? For every point? Like if Nishi plays a 250 SF, they give him $180,000?

How about when he fails to defend ranking points from a certain tournament? Do they charge him for that?

It would cost them about 10 million dollars this year. It is possible for such a big country.
Maybe it's their way to give incentive for young players to play tennis professionally.

Are you sure it's dollar, not yen, so about $20 rather?
I don't believe they give $2000, but on TC, Ashley Fisher did say Japanese players are well supported financially.

if it's true it means they've paid out 7.4 million so far this year

seems unlikely tbh
