Great starting out with Tomic. I hope Tommy can teach that young punk--I mean--pup a few lessons!

Re: Tommy at Gerry Weber Open, 2012
Nice to see grass season finally :yeah:
Btw Tommy's playing really good, awesome on net etc.. EDIT: While I was typing this, it has been confirmed that Tommy won the match by ret. on score 5-2 in 1st set.. |
Re: Tommy at Gerry Weber Open, 2012
This match worries me--depends on which 19-year-old shows up. Tommy definitely has the strategic and mental toughness edge on him, but Tomic is ranked 22 and hits very hard.
Tommy received a wild card into Wimbledon: http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/news/...508369858.html I'm sure the good play at RG helped (albeit on a different surface)-- go Tommy. Woohoo! Thanks, Lugburz, I just read your post about Tommy's win on retirement. |
Re: Tommy at Gerry Weber Open, 2012
Yeah you're welcome ;)
I'm not sure at this point whether Tomic got injured or smth, because his ret. really came out of nowhere. But tbh Tomic really looked uninterested and passive from the start. Tommy on the other hand, played this 7 games really good. On my joy, he was very aggressive and patient. |

Re: Tommy at Gerry Weber Open, 2012
Another fine display on grass, beating Granollers 6-3 6-4 :yeah:
There's no need to describe how Tommy looks on grass here :P It was simply class act. Next up, tricky one vs Berdych, gonna be good match.. |
Re: Tommy at Gerry Weber Open, 2012
Tommy did look good :) But Berdych :scared: depending on which Berdych shows up!
|
Re: Tommy at Gerry Weber Open, 2012
Tommy he did it :woohoo: I was only able to catch the very last part of the Match live so I don't know which Berdych showed up, but I don't care--Tommy won :yippee:

Re: Tommy at Gerry Weber Open, 2012
Another very, very solid win vs. Kohlschreiber, without facing a single breakpoint.
I know most of you don't really watch Tommy's rankings anymore, but he will be in top 60 on Monday, back from practically nowhere in such a short period of time. That's terrific! |
