I bet carrier, Fedders and all those other Central AC companies make good business in Arizona.

The most common one is Trane ;)

I have 2 units :p It's a big deal in summer if power is out.

Do you Arizonians, purchase your own electric generators, for such cases when there might happen power outages and such. Gosh I would, I am not planning on dying of heat stroke.

Nah, we just jumped into the pools. And if we really need a generator, it will be a solar one ;)

But it's truth that for many seniors and young children, heat stroke is a serious thread during the hot summer days, especially if there's a power outage.

Oh right I forgot about the pools. :ras: I would love to have a pool.

Do you folks get many power outages? Perhaps because of the energy demand? I can see how it might be an issue, but they should know this by now since the weather demands that you folks use those AC units.

The power outage mainly because of the Monsoon. We have the country's largest nuclear plant here (:scared: about 100 miles from where I live and 70 miles from city center). But the plant is getting old and there may be maintenance problems and if part of the plant has to shut down during summer, we may have a blackout. But California will be more likely to be affected as part of the power generated by the plant is sent to California.

You're near Hoover dam? Or what is it the other in Nevada?

That's the one that messed up the Colorado river, huh?

Edit: But wait aren't both of the above just general power plants, well are they considered nuclear because of the size or because they are actually using nuclera fission to produce the energy?

Hoover Dam is between Nevada and Arizona. And it's not only that Dam mess up the Colorado River.
