Suicide Tennis
Stokholm Open



1. Each day of play you must pick 1 winner playing an ATP main draw singles match. Of course, the player that you choose is playing one match scheduled to be played that day (as seen on the order of play).

2. Once you pick someone, you cannot choose them again for the rest of the tournament. So, you don't want to waste your pick on Federer or Nadal to win in early round matches.

3. You must choose one player to win each day. If you forget, are sick, or are unable to reach a computer, it will be treated as a wrong pick, and you will be out of the tournament. You have to submit your own pick, no one else can submit your pick for you.

4. Only in the case of a walkover or a withdrawal of your main pick, each player is allowed to have a back-up pick, selected at the same time as their initial pick. That back-up pick will only be used in the occurrence of a walkover or withdrawal, as stated above. Retirements do count as completed matches.

Replacement picks must be identified like this:
Back-Up Pick - Andy Roddick or
BU: Andy Roddick
Make it clear and try to do it all in one post!

5. No commitments are necessary! If you wish to participate, just post your Day 1 pick in the correct time. New players are ALWAYS welcome!

6. Once the order of play is released, it will be added IN THIS THREAD, right below, to facilitate your choices. Each day, this post will be updated with its respective order of play.

NOTE: You can't pick a player from a match scheduled for the previous day and postponed for the next due to rain or darkness! Choose only from the matches posted in the OOP here for the concrete day!

7. Picks will be acceptable until before the start of the FIRST match each day.

8. The scoring system will be as follows:

Losing Pick on Day 1: 1
Losing Pick on Day 2: 5
Losing Pick on Day 3: 15
Losing Pick on Day 4: 35
Losing Pick on Day 5: 60
Losing Pick on Day 6: 95
Losing Pick on Day 7: 150
Winning the title: 250
9. This thread is not made to complain about format, points, etc. There's Suicide Suggestions Thread created for that. :)

Day 1 - Monday

Total picks: 75
Pick distribution: Petzschner 36, Haas 26, Devvarman 10, Kubot 3

62 survivors. Not bad considering it a 2 match day.

Suicide rate: 17,33%

Day 2 - Tuesday

Total picks: 60
Pick distribution: Nieminen 32, Dodig 11, Nalbandian 8, Blake 4, Anderson 4, No pick 2, Kamke 1

All who sent picks survived, quite impressive!! :worship:

Suicide rate: 3,22%

Day 3 - Wednesday

Total picks: 58
Pick distribution: Tomic35, Dimitrov 14, Anderson 4, Ryderstedt 4, No pick 2, Raonic 1

The tournament keeps having a really low rate of suicides. Congratulations to everyone!!

Suicide rate: 10,34%

Day 4 - Thursday

Total picks: 54
Pick distribution: Kamke 42, Dimitrov 5, Wawrinka 5, Monfils 1, Nalbandian 1

Kamke will decide whether we will have massive suicide or not, 77,7% of players picked him.

Kamke decided there would not be a massive suicide. Still 49 survivors.

Suicide rate: 9,26%

Day 5 - Friday

Total picks: 48
Pick distribution: Raonic 23, Nieminen 13, Monfils 7, Nalbandian 3, Dimitrov 2, No pick 1

Incredible!!! The further we go, the less suicides we have. We still have 61,33% of survivors the 5th day of competition!!

Now things will get a little worse:

Nieminen has been picked by 38 of 46 survivors
Raonic has been picked by 24 of 46 survivors
Monfils has been picked by 11 of 46 survivors
Blake has been picked by 3 of 46 survivors

Suicide rate: 4,16%

Day 6 - Saturday

Total picks: 40
Pick distribution: Blake 32, Monfils 5, Nieminen 3, No pick 5, Invalid pick 1

And there it goes, a massive 95 points to 32 players. ;)

Suicide rate: 80%

Day 7 - Sunday

Still 8 survivors for the last day but 3 of then have already picked Monfils and Nieminen.

Nieminen: Boomer23 and poiree
