Re: Week 36 : Sevilla (Entry List)
Rooting for Ruben and Daniel to win here, but Albert will probably take it.

I wonder if one or a couple of the Spaniards who lost early in New York play here, like Riba or Montanes.

Re: Week 36 : Sevilla (Entry List)
Ruben has an OK draw, but hopefully he doesn't lose to the kid Carballes. He can lose in any of the rounds but also has a realistic shot at the SF.

I like Pere's draw for two rounds, but Ciric potentially in the QF is not nice, even though his form hasn't been great. Ghem can give him trouble also potentially. Hopefully Pere makes the SF here but I'm not confident in his form nor fitness.

DGT can probably lose to and beat anyone here and it all depends where he's at with his level and if he's past whatever sickness he had at the USO, so his draw is irrelevant. The final will probably be Ramos v Riba, but I hope it's RRH v DGT.

Re: Week 36 : Sevilla (Entry List)
RRH v Munoz in R2 now. Should be a good match-up for Ruben, he can grind him down and has better weapons, but we'll see.

Re: Week 36 : Sevilla (Entry List)
Ciric played really badly. Should have won the first set but wasted 6 set points in the tie break, and had to save match points in the third set. Served his way out of trouble but will need to improve to go any further.

Re: Week 36 : Sevilla (Entry List)
Epic match in some way

In first set both players exchanged service games with relative ease until *5/6 with Cervantes serving when Ciric had two SPs. In TB Serb it was 6/2* for Ciric but he wasted 4 SPs and ended the set with DF.
Ciric was simply the better player in the second set. After taking the only break in the match he won this part 6/3.
Cervantes saved one break point in second or third service game of 3rd set. Ther won service games quite easy, but Ciric was forced to defend two MPs in 12th game of decider. But then he won 4 points in a row just with the serve. In TB he had comfortable result, but hit easy put-away-forehand into the sky at *5/4. Unforced error from Cervantes on Spaniard's serve was the last point of the match.

Ciric was the better player, he should have won it much easier but he didn't do his best on big points. Luckily for him, Cervantes was even worse and managed to smash a few more racquets. Great serving from Ciric should be noted.

Re: Week 36 : Sevilla (Entry List)
I thought the overall level was very poor from a player with the form Ciric has on clay, and a ranking just outside the top 150. Some of the unforced, especially on the backhand side were inexplicable. I saw him a couple of weeks ago in San Marino and he looked pretty good, but if he'd have been playing a better player yesterday he'd have lost comfortably. As you say, serve was impressive. I didn't see an Ace count but I would guess it was towards 20, but Niko is a better player overall than he showed in this match.
