Will there be another Roger Federer?

All aspects can be talked about.

Last time I've checked the earth is going to exist for another few billion years. Now compare this to the last 150 years when tennis became a regular sport.

Hope this helps.

Grigor Dimitrov??????

Re: Will there be another Roger Federer?

short answer: no.
There will be never another glorious 2-3 years like Federer's between 2005-2007. In style Dimitrov is kinda copying him, succesfully, but I'm not sure if he'll ever reach those heights.

Do Germans know something the rest of the world doesn't?

I mean style of play, game-wise, let's not even talk about achievements. Or arguably the best to see of all time vanish after his retirement.

Have you ever heard of Grigor Dimitrov ? Federer's Wannabe.

one generation at a time. I am still waiting on Rajeev Rampras to fulfill his destiny.

It's possible given the racket technology. It just takes one really athletic player that has motivation and hunger to do so. But I don't know, I doubt it, at least not in a long time.

Laughing hard at fans already burying Federer with these threads. :haha:

He's still here, you know. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I do hope there will be another Roger Federer. His brand of tennis is the reason I watch the game. When he does retire, which I hope isn't for a long time yet, for the sake of the sport, and for my own selfish reasons, I hope another player can emerge who can play the beautiful game, hitting winners at ease, with a one handed backhand (hopefully an even better one handed back hand than Federer, say with Gasquet's backhand).

Of course. There is no conflict anyway.

Don't think we'll see domination like it for a long time. Players with his style are emerging though, all courters exist among all ranks - Roger is simply an exceptional all courter, one will come along who will be as talented, but if they fulfil their potential - thats another matter. Nole fan is right though, he is ONLY 29! Cmon people.

Dimitrov and Dancevic are both a poor man's Federer.

I don't think there will be another run like fed had from 2004-2008. But every generation gets better and records are made to be broken. I still believe fed has a couple more majors in him. wimby and us open.

Yes time will go on, probably nine year agos in 2002, people were asking Will there be another Pete Sampras? Then came Roger and shattered all his records. Try to dig up an old Pete post if this forum was around then.

But yes I'm sure somewhere in the no so near future will break his records
