Have we ever seen Fit Dave at a grand slam?

The way the guy is playing at the moment is insane. He would blast almost anyone off the court.

But the problem is we have only really seen Fat Dave at grand slams in recent history, and even then he was pretty good, making all the semis at all the Grand Slams.

Watching his tennis is like poetry in motion, he is easily the most naturally talented Tennis player since Bjorn Borg and Ivan Lendl. His shotmaking is GOAT worthy.

I think he would have at least 5 slams, and would have taken one of Nadals French Opens, 2006 perhaps.

He also would have won 2003 US Open for sure.

This is all assuming he would have avoided some injuries. But I honestly believe being cardiovascularly fit, and dropping some pounds would have gone a long way to avoiding some of those injuries.

It seems, sadly, the only time the ladies man decided to activate Fit Dave was for his 2003 TV Spot with the horny massuese :worship:

So how many slams would Fit Dave have won?

I know he dispatched Federer at 2003 AO, but he would have been a real chance to take it to Aggassi in that final if he had been there. No one stood up at that tournament.

Fit-Dave? Who gives a shit about Fit-Dave. The actual issue is Choker-Dave. The real question is how many slams could he have won if Choker-Dave never came out? Don't be an idiot, there have been numerous occasions where he was fine and fit.

Tennis is not his passion...so he gets out of shape. It's a mental issue. He has won as many Slams as he should have, which is zero.

Obviously he had the talent to win several, but there are plenty of underachievers on the tour.

overall i can think of 8

Real shots/wasted chances:

2002 Wimbledon* (green, washed up nalbandian losing to hewitt.. he could have, got to the final but not mentally ready. unfortunately got squashed by hewitt)
2003 US Open (got robbed against roddick, F vs Ferrero = easily best shot)
2004 Roland Garros (injured against Gaudio in SF, if he had won and coria had collapsed as well, then there you go)
2004 Australian Open (found an amazing federer, would have destroyed anybody else iin the draw= SF Ferrero, F tired safin )
2006 Australian Open (wasted an incredible match against baghdatis and coming off a 5 set win vs fed at tmc.. i remember fed didnt play well that final vs baghdatis still not sure about it)


longer shots:


2003 Australian Open ( :o off day vs Schuettler, tired Roddick in SF, Agassi in F? who knows)
2005 Australian Open (QF loss 8-10 vs hewitt, SF vs Roddick and F vs In form Safin-the-zone)
2006 Roland Garros (retired in the semis vs federer after schooling the swiss maestro at the start of the match, then suddenly after set up break up, faded. injury. considered longer shot since he would have had to fight off nadal in the final)


those are the slams i recall with nalbandian playing with decent chances of achieving a slam. the rest it was easy to predict he would lose. IMO of course, these are the "fit dave's" slam.

If he would have won 1 or 2 already it is a different story, but since he has won none there is no need to assume he would have won some to begin with.
