Au revoir et Bercy...

He is not on the entry list but he will most likely get a WC (or else there will be blood! :armed: )

http://www.fft.fr/bnpparibasmasters/2009_en/

What better place could he have chosen to say goodbye?
Paris, where it all started 11 1/2 years ago...
Paris, where he reached his first big final...
Paris, where he won 3 times...
Paris, where he won Russia's first Davis Cup...

It won't be the same without him :awww:

Momo, I think it'll take a long time before he joins seniors tour.

omg the last thread by a woman who stood by his side long enough:) anyway is sad not only because we are saying goodbye to marat but we are also saying goodbye to this partenership I mean we cried we laughed together but now is almost over. and we will start with the promises that we will check around here once in a while....but this will be an empty place too not only the tennis courts without marat. so I want to say now I'm and I will be forever a safinholic and I'm proud to be part of this group of special people(cause u need to be special to love someone like Marat). so:hug:s to all and hopefully we will enjoy some more victories now in the end:)!!

When did he say he was going to play Seniors? In his latest interview he said he would like to do something related to tennis...

He could get his revenge by being an umpire LOL

Looks like this shouldn't be a problem:

From Kolya's Interview after his match with Marat in Moscow:
Quote:

- Nicholas, whether there has been important to you, that in Moscow you might spend his last match with Marat Safin?
— I do not know, maybe we'll meet again in Paris Bercy. He is going to have to play in St. Petersburg and Paris, under a contract with Adidas he must play at Bercy
.

:wavey: Hope this helps, a couple of further instances where he mentions the seniors tour.

Q. No, I'm asking you if you're anxious about what the next step in your life will be?

MARAT SAFIN: No, I have plenty of ‑ I have plenty of things to do, but unfortunately I'd rather do that. Because there it will not go away, what I'm going after. It is just there and waiting for me. It's as interesting as tennis. But tennis, when I stop professional tennis, I'll never be able to come back. So I want to stretch it as long as I can. Of course, at age of 35 I'll come back and play the senior's tour. That's not a problem. But I want to stretch it a little bit my ‑ still I'm 28.

Q: You’re still only 29, but do you think that there’s an outside chance we could see you on the oldies tour?

MARAT SAFIN: I would love to play seniors, but just, it’s enough. I had a very good ride etc ...
